Vancouver Canucks vs Calgary Flames NHL Betting Lines Update

Vancouver Canucks: Halt mini skid in win over the Champs

Despite their recent form (3-5 in their last eight) and the loss of Ryan Keller (again) we still see Vancouver as one of the better teams in the NHL. That showed as the Canucks racked up a 5-2 win against the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings 5-2 at the Rogers Arena during Hockey Night in Canada action last night.

After giving up 12 goals in two loses, a strong defensive effort was good to see last night. A short turn around (with travel) and being up against a team desperately needing to show some pride are minor concerns but not enough to move us off the Canucks. Vancouver is vastly superior to this frazzled and fizzling Flames club.

Calgary Flames: Narrowly avoid an avalanche of embarrassment

Bottom of the barrel? That’s where the Calgary Flames may have landed after what can only be described as one of the dumbest days in franchise history. After rolling into Colorado on Thursday, the Flames figured they had pulled a fast one when they signed Ryan O’Reilly to an offer sheet – an unspoken taboo in the NHL.

The Avalance matched the offer a few hours later and were able to keep their disgruntled potential star. The dumb part? If Colorado didn’t match the offer, O’Reilly would have gone to the waiver wire,  Columbus would have claimed him, and the Flames would have lost the 1st and 3rd round draft picks they paid to get him.

Flames vs Canucks NHL Betting Odds  – Online Sports Betting Game Night Call

We were happy to see sportsbetting .com is offering some decent prices on this contest. Vancouver has been posted as road chalk at -1.5 (+215) ATD and -134 on the money line. The Fizzles, at +1.5 (-255) on the puck line and +122 straight up, are home dogs while the Over/Under is listed at 5 (O -135 U +123) total goals.

Somewhat lost in the Flames Thursday follies is the fact that they had 3-0 and 4-2 leads before they lost 5-4 to the Avalanche – Karma? The Canucks won the first two meetings (3-2 and 5-1) and we see them winning again tonight. We’ll cruise with the Canucks and the -134 ML at the SportsBetting online sportsbook.
