Sale looking for ninth win as ERA continues to drop
Chris Sale has been one of the lone bright spots for the White Sox in a disappointing 2014 season. Chicago is nine games off the pace in the AL Central and running out of time to make a run for the playoffs. Sale has a record of 8-1 with an ERA hovering close to two. Sale is coming off his third consecutive All-Star game appearance and is definitely in the running for the American League Cy Young Award this year.
Royals continue to lose ground in the Central
Kansas City comes into tonight’s game with the White Sox seven games out of first. They have lost three straight games and are just 3-7 in their last 10 games played. Kansas City will ask veteran Jeremy Guthrie to end their skid, but he has not enjoyed a strong season so far. In his final two starts prior to the All-Star break, Guthrie lasted just four innings in each game.
Our bets for Monday night’s contest between the White Sox and the Royals will be placed at Sportsbook.ag, where the White Sox are home chalk and deservedly so. Chris Sale has been nothing short of stellar this season and he takes the mound for Chicago on Monday. We will drop 15 percent of our bankroll on the White sox and the -190 money line as they win game one of this series.
