No. 1 Bob Gibson, St. Louis Cardinals (17 K's)

As a first-ballot Hall of Famer, Gibson was one of the most dominant pitchers of the 1960’s. In this particular game against the Detroit Tigers in the 1968 World Series, Gibson was on fire. Notching 17 strikeouts, the flamethrower set the record for most K’s in a single postseason game, which the Cards won 4-0. Gibson’s performance, however, went all for not as the Tigers won the World Series in seven games.
