A member of the San Diego Padres, Brown was the ace of the Padres staff during the 1998 season. In that year’s NLDS, Brown struck out 16 Houston Astros en route to a 2-1 win. San Diego would go on to win that series against Houston, eventually winning the World Series against the New York Yankees.
