Born and raised in Nevada, Eric was exposed to the world of sports betting at an early age. He yearned to be 21 just to hit the sportsbook, and when that day finally came, he became a regular at the smoke-filled room, sweating out bets with sketchy characters. Eric's passion for sports betting hasn't wavered since. However, he's developed a separate interest in business too. Eric combines both these deep passions for OSB where he not only drops expert betting advice, but also researched news about the state of industry. Things like new legalization bills, tax changes, state revenue, innovation, and so much more!

Lots of things went wrong in 2020 and at the start of 2021. If one thing went right, though, it was the United States' push toward more widespread legal sports betting. The coronavirus pandemic incentivized local governments to green light sports betting at a faster pace, and the results speak for themselves. Ten new states have passed a bill to legalize sports wagering in the last year alone, with more expected to follow. Some states, however, remain holdouts.
