Big 12 Online college football betting is in full force come Saturday as the Texas Longhorns travel to Lawrence to face the Kansas Jayhawks, who have surprised the entire nation this season. Both teams are 6-4 on the year and sit right beside one another in conference play. The #18 Longhorns are coming off a low-scoring 17-10 loss to unbeaten TCU in Week 11 as the offense immensely struggled to get going. The Jayhawks meanwhile, fell 43-28 to Texas Tech as their defensive flaws were once again exposed. Continue reading for the Texas vs Kansas odds.

Texas vs Kansas Odds

BetOnlineSpreadMoneylineTotal
Texas-9 (-110)-305Ov 63.5 (-110)
Kansas+9 (-110)+255Un 63.5 (-110)

Texas is a clear 9-point favorite for Saturday's matchup with steep moneyline odds of -305. Kansas comes back at +255. The total is set at 63.5.

The Jayhawks actually beat the Longhorns in a 57-56 OT thriller in 2021, but Texas won three in a row prior to that.

Longhorns vs Jayhawks Betting Outlook

Texas is best known for its offense, but that wasn't the case vs TCU. This was arguably one of their worst games of the year when it came to actually producing downfield. The Longhorns had a brutal 28 rushing yards and just 171 yards through the air. Superstar running back Bijan Robinson was completely shut down by the Horned Frogs, rushing for an average of 2.4 yards per carry in a forgettable performance. Meanwhile, quarterback Quinn Ewers completed only 17 of his 39 passes for 171 yards and no touchdowns. On a more positive note, the Jayhawks defense is by no means solid, which means it's a good opportunity for Texas to find its footing and break out in a big way on the road. Ewers must be a lot more efficient with his throws and Robinson has to get back to dominating on the ground. It wouldn't be a surprise to see that happen considering his talent and the Kansas run defense is 170th in the nation.

The Jayhawks have been struggling as of late after winning the first five games of the season. They've dropped four of their last five but did manage to grab their sixth win in Week 10 over Oklahoma State, which solidified a bowl appearance in 2022. Lance Leipold has done a nice job with a program that is rarely known as a football school. That being said, with only two contests left in the campaign, it's time to buckle down and finish on a high note. It's also important to note that QB1 Jalon Daniels has missed the last four games with a shoulder injury. Although Jason Bean is doing his part offensively as the backup, Daniels is eyeing a Week 12 return. If he's able to play, it will be massive for the Jayhawks. Daniels garnered early-season Heisman hype after a blistering start and has proven to be one of the best all-around signal-callers in the country. Bean threw for 270 yards and three TDs last weekend against Texas Tech, but the defense couldn't stop the Red Raiders' rushing attack, allowing 264 yards on the ground. They'll need to definitely clean it up on Saturday at home, especially with Robinson capable of destroying them.

Texas vs Kansas Picks

The Texas vs Kansas odds are deservingly favoriting the Longhorns, but I see serious value in the Jayhawks. Daniels has already missed a ton of time and Leipold's squad is 7-2 ATS. If the QB plays, they have a legitimate chance of winning this one, which I think he will. There are only two games left after all and Daniels wants to be ready to roll come bowl season. The home crowd will fuel them.
