Oregon is a massive favorite, with odds as steep as -1100 on the moneyline. Colorado is priced at +670. The Ducks are laying 21 points on the spread as well. The Buffaloes haven't been the big of an underdog yet in the 2023 season.

Overall, these two programs have met 24 times, with Oregon notching 15 victories. Colorado has won on nine occasions. Dan Lanning's group is riding a three-game winning streak in this matchup, though. Something to keep in mind.

Can Colorado Pull Off The Upset?

The Buffaloes have been the talk of college football in 23' with Deion Sanders leading the way. The NFL legend took over this program that went 1-12 a year ago and has them looking like a legitimate contender just three games in. Primetime's infectious personality, leadership, and sheer coaching abilities have really done wonders in Boulder.

Colorado started off the campaign with a bang, shocking last year's runner-up TCU down in Fort Worth behind a clinic from quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. Next, it was a beatdown of Nebraska, with Sanders making Matt Rhule eat his words. Then last weekend, there was more fuel to the fire when Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell criticized Deion's attire during press conferences. That backfired.

The Buffaloes ran out with a victory on home soil, but it wasn't as convincing as one would've liked. The Rams pushed Colorado to two overtimes. Shedeur balled out once again and looks like one of the best QBs in the country so far as he completed 38 of 47 passes for 348 yards and four touchdowns. Four different wideouts also had a minimum of five catches, led by Xavier Weaver, who reeled in nine receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown. He'll be a big factor Saturday. Running back Dylan Edwards put in work as well, rushing for 5.7 yards per carry.

Going into Eugene is going to be tough, but this Buffaloes offense has shown they really do some damage. The problem that may arise is on the defensive side of the ball. Colorado allowed 35 points to a rather average Colorado State team. If they perform like that again, Bo Nix and Co. are going to destroy them. It doesn't help that Hunter is sidelined for around three weeks with a lacerated liver. Others in the secondary need to step up.

Oregon a Deserving Favorite

Sure, Colorado has been turning some heads, but there is a reason Oregon is a massive favorite. They're historically elite and could even make the CFP Playoff this year. Nix decided to return for his senior year instead of declaring for the NFL Draft and so far, he's looked efficient in more ways than one. The former Auburn QB has completed 77.6% of his throws for 893 yards, 10 touchdowns, and not a single interception. He's also rushed for over five yards per carry. Nix is a versatile weapon.

The Ducks offense currently ranks fourth in all of college football with 588 yards per game, which isn't surprising. They put up 81 points in Week 1, 38 in Week 2, and then 55 in Week 3. Oregon ranks second in points too with 58 per contest. A little bit inflated considering two of their opponents in Hawaii and Portland State weren't exactly difficult, but still impressive.

Nix has no shortage of options within this offense. Five players had at least three catches Saturday and the running back duo of Noah Whittington and Jordan James is fantastic. I honestly don't think you'll see the Ducks have any issues scoring points in Week 4, especially considering they're at home. Slowing down Sanders and Co. will probably be the difference-maker.

Colorado vs Oregon Picks

To me, 21 points seems a bit too steep. Colorado is a confident group that will be biting at the bit for an opportunity to face a program like Oregon. Will the Ducks win? Yes, I believe so. But it'll be closer than three touchdowns.
