The Longhorns are a 6.5-point road favorite on Saturday and have won two of their last three meetings with OK State. But the Cowboys won last season's encounter in Austin, 32-24.

Texas vs. Oklahoma State Analysis

The Longhorns weren't convincing but came back to beat Iowa State on Saturday. Quinn Ewers threw for three touchdowns and connected with top target Xavier Worthy for the go-ahead score with under five minutes left in the fourth. The defense also clutched up in a big way, with linebacker Jaylan Ford forcing two turnovers, including a critical fumble late in the contest. By no surprise, running back Bijan Robinson rushed for another 100+ yards. He continues to be one of the best RBs in the entire country.

It's important to note that Iowa State has the best defense in the Big 12, yet Robinson still ripped them apart. Expect him to be a key piece of the offense once again in Stillwater. Ewers has been inconsistent at times this season and also missed time with an injury and it'll be interesting to see how he fares against a strong Cowboys pass rush defense. He'll need to bring his best.

OK State hasn't looked like the same team in recent weeks. After two convincing wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Baylor, the Cowboys barely beat Texas Tech and then allowed 43 points to TCU, the second-most they've conceded all year so far. You can definitely look at the fact that quarterback Spencer Sanders rushed for two TDs, but he completed just 16 of 36 passes for 245 yards and just one throwing score.

Nevertheless, the Pokes offense is still one of the best around, ranking fourth in the country with 45.3 points per contest. That definitely comes down to the opponents they've faced. However, it's still impressive. Brennan Presley, John Paul Richardson, and Braydon Johnson are all reliable weapons out wide for Sanders and will certainly be busy on Saturday. Something to keep an eye on for this matchup is Sanders' health, though. The signal-caller is reportedly dealing with a sore shoulder. If he did miss out, that means freshman quarterback Gunnar Gundy would step into the spotlight. He's talented, but Gundy isn't experienced at this level yet.

Texas vs Oklahoma State Prediction

To be honest, I'm liking Texas here. Their offense is truly electric lately and Ewers is more than capable of producing in an important contest. There are also some health concerns for the Cowboys that could prove to be costly. Marching into Stillwater and grabbing a Big 12 victory is no easy task by any means, but the Longhorns can do it. After all, they're 11-3 all-time at Boone Pickens Stadium and have gone 26-10 lifetime against Oklahoma State.

Take them to cover the spread in an excitement-filled game.
