Pittsburgh Penguins-1.5 (+205)-116Ov 6.5 (+109)
Ottawa Senators+1.5 (-245+105Un 6.5 (-120)

The Pens are favored by 1.5 goals on the puck line and -116 odds on the moneyline. The Senators come back at +105. The total is set at 6.5 goals and has been hit in five of the last six meetings. There's typically no shortage of scoring when these two teams clash. Pittsburgh is also unbeaten in back-to-back games against Ottawa.

Pittsburgh Betting Outlook

The Penguins are currently in the playoff bubble in eighth place. They don't really shine in any area in particular, sitting around the middle of the pack in goals scored and goals allowed. But, Pittsburgh has a few different guys that are carrying the load offensively. By no surprise to anyone, Sidney Crosby is still lighting it up on a nightly basis at 35 years old, leading the team with 21 goals and 28 assists in 43 games. Evgeni Malkin is more than capable after all these years too, contributing 15 goals and 26 assists. Lastly, Jake Guentzel is the third star on the Pens, scoring 18 times and adding 21 assists. The left winger also played hero in Monday's victory, scoring the OT winner.

Pittsburgh was looking at a loss until Bryan Rust scored a late equalizer in the third period to force an extra five minutes. Overtime went end to end and they caught the Ducks on the fast break, with Guentzel sniping John Gibson courtesy of a Crosby pass. It was wild. Considering the Penguins' recent record against the Sens, the confidence will be high on Wednesday, especially with Ottawa playing so poorly at the moment.

Ottawa Betting Outlook

It's been a nightmare season for the Senators. They're seventh in the Atlantic and 14th overall in the East with a tough 19-21-3 record. Ottawa struggles immensely to score, producing just 2.91 goals per game, which ranks 25th in the league. The team is also allowing 3.23 goals per night. There are six different scorers in double-digits, led by Brady Tkachuk, who has 15 goals and 27 assists. Tim Stutzle has also netted 19 times and provided another 21.

The Sens were absolutely embarrassed on Saturday by the Colorado Avalanche, losing 7-0 on the road. The scoring problems continued Monday in St. Louis, finding the back of the net just once, with Tim Stutzle producing the goods to continue his impressive campaign. Ottawa gave up both goals in the first period and managed to outshoot the Blues 33-20 overall but failed to equalize. It's a really difficult spell coming up for this group, too. They play the Pens twice before facing the Jets, Islanders, and Maple Leafs. thankfully, three of those matchups do come at home, where Ottawa is just above .500 with an 11-0-1 record in 2022-23.

Penguins vs Senators Picks

The bet that is just screaming value is the over. Both of these teams are by no means stout defensively and have tons of scorers. As mentioned, the previous history just says goals come by the boatload in this matchup. With +109 odds for over 6.5, this is undoubtedly worth a shot here.
