UFC 321 Overview: Tom Aspinall vs Ciryl Gane
England's Aspinall (15-3) won the interim heavyweight title in 2023 via a knockout of Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295.

In 15 career bouts, French fighter Gane (13-2) has suffered his only losses at the hands of UFC heavyweight champions Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou.
Fighter Spotlight: Tom Aspinall
He defended the belt with a KO of Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304. Shortly thereafter, Aspinall was given the upgrade to undisputed heavyweight champ.
The win over Blaydes avenged Aspinall's 2022 TKO loss to the same fighter. At 5.18, Aspinall owns the largest striking differential in UFC history. None of his 18 career MMA bouts have ever gone the distance. Aspinall was named Breakthrough Fighter of the Year at the 2024 World MMA Awards.
Fighter Spotlight: Ciryl Gane
Gane won the UFC interim heavyweight title with a victory over Derrick Lewis at UFC 265 in 2021. But he was beaten by Ngannou in his next bout.
As the top contender in the heavyweight division, Gane has defeated several ranked fighters. His fight card shows two wins over No. 2 Alexander Volkov, as well as victories over Serghei Spivac (No. 7), Lewis (No. 8), and Tai Tuivasa (No. 10).
Prediction: These are two very athletic fighters who bring contrasting styles inside the octagon. Very mobile inside the cage, Aspinall's combination of agility and power enables him to dominate opponents and overwhelm them. His record shows seven first-round stoppages, with just one of Aspinall's UFC fights reaching the second round.
This is all bad news for Gane. He traditionally struggles against fighters who can strike powerfully and grapple effectively. Gane will be the most technical striker that Aspinall has faced. But the Frenchman needs to stay on his feet to win. His underwhelming ground game will prove Gane's undoing.
UFC 321 Overview: Virna Jandiroba vs Mackenzie Dern
These two fighters met five years ago on the undercard of UFC 256. Dern won the bout by unanimous decision.
Fighter Spotlight: Virna Jandiroba
The former Invicta FC women's strawweight champion, Jandiroba (22-3), is riding a five-fight winning streak. She's 6-1 since that loss to Dern.
Four of her five wins during this streak were unanimous decision victories. The ???? is the No. 1 contender in the UFC women's strawweight division.
Fighter Spotlight: Mackenzie Dern
Born in the USA to a Brazilian father, Dern (15-5), spent much of her early life going back and forth between the two nations. She was a world champion in that sport.
Moving into MMA, Dern was 10-1 following her win over Jandiroba. However, she's just 5-4 since that bout.
Prediction: These are two veterans of the cage. Jandiroba is 37 and Dern is 35. Both have backgrounds in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, each holding black belts in the discipline.
Their first meeting was a close call that went the distance, and you should expect a similar outcome to this bout. It will go the distance. The difference will be when both fighters are upright. It's basically a break-even scenario between Dern and Jandiroba when it comes to grappling.

Where the slight edge goes to Dern is in striking power. As long as she doesn't leave herself open to a Jandiroba counter punch, look for Dern to take the close decision on the judges' scorecards.
