In a new article from 620WTMJ, a local radio station in Wisconsin, it has been reported that the delay is because Wisconsin and the local tribes it is working with are still working to iron things out. This is different, as Wisconsin is working with the tribes instead of focusing on launching online betting with commercial operations. With this, there are still things to iron out, but the longer things are delayed, the more money Wisconsin will lose out on.

"Unlike neighboring states such as Illinois and Iowa, Wisconsin is taking a different approach," 620WTMJ wrote. "Instead of licensing commercial operators through a state regulatory system, online sports betting will operate through agreements between the state and Wisconsin’s 11 federally recognized tribes. Those gaming compacts must first be negotiated between the tribes and the governor’s office before being submitted to the federal government for approval."

As you can see above, the tribes and Wisconsin are negotiating the terms of this agreement, with things still being finalized there. Once that gets done, things will be sent to the Federal Government to be looked over. Once that happens, the hope is that things will be approved, and then people will be able to download some mobile betting apps and place bets. However, again, there's no set date for that particular launch.
