June 19 UFC Fight Night Betting Breakdown
ThoughĀ Jung Chan Sung vs. Dan IgeĀ is theĀ marquee showdown for UFC fight night, we want to get our predictions in forĀ every single matchup on the docket. With seven differentĀ battles to cover, we're going to be dropping picks in fast and furious fashion, so get ready!
Jung Chan Sung (-111) vs. Dan Ige (-109)
If you don't know it already, be prepared to remember Jung Chan Sung's name. He was on the main event track prior to his previous loss toĀ Brian Ortega.
Sung's strike defense can leave much to be desired, but he's landing 4.15 significant punches per minute with adequate accuracy. Dan Ige is liked by a lot of people versus The Korean Zombie, but we don't see his takedown defense or strike defense holding up.
OSB Prediction:Ā Jung Chan Sung (-111)
Serghei Spivac (-235) vs. Aleksei Oleinik (+200)
Working off two consecutive losses, UFC journeymanĀ Aleksei Oleinik, who has more than 70 matches under his belt, will look to get back on the winning track againstĀ Serghei Spivac. We don't like his chances.
Spivac is a whiz at evading opponent combinations and will not be afraid to try getting Oleinik onto the mat. Both of those strengths work against Oleinik's most potent weaknesses. We don't expect this to be close.
OSB Prediction: Serghei Spivac (-235)
Tim Means (-200) vs. Danny Roberts (+170)
Speed and accuracy renderĀ Tim Means one of UFC's most interesting under-the-radar names.
He is landing 5.16 significant strikes per minute at a clip of almost 50 percent. In his last matchup, versusĀ Mike Perry, he connected on 128 strikes...in just three rounds..and more than doubled up the number landed by Perry (64).
Danny Roberts will pose a greater challenge.Ā He is rock solid at swatting away rival combinations. But his offensive speed doesn't compare to Means' furious pace.
OSB Prediction: Tim Means (-200)
Marlon Vera (-300) vs. Davey Grant (+240)
It is interesting thatĀ Davey Grant is a relatively heavy underdog here. He is working off two consecutive victories in which he knocked out his opponent.
Granted,Ā Marlon Vera has better, more under-control fundamentals. But we don't like how his offensive conservatism matches up with Grant's relentless approach. We're calling for an upset.
OSB Prediction: Davey Grant (+240)
Virna Jandiroba (-145) vs. Kanako Murata (+125)
Virna JandirobaĀ is a slight favorite here, most likely because she blends a combination of power and pace.Ā Kanako Murata, on the other hand, is more about using her strength and force to throw her opponents around.
If Kanako fought a little faster, we'd be inclined to lean towards her. But Jandiroba's methodical style wins us over.
OSB Prediction: Virna Jandiroba (-145)
Choi Seung Woo (-130) vs. Julian Erosa (+110)
Do the oddsmakers know something we don't here? Because, on paper,Ā Julian Erosa is a terrible matchup forĀ Choi Seung Woo.
Few fighters blend Erosa's frenetic offensive approach with the ability to end theĀ show in one swing. His past two victories have come by knockout or submission, and he's currently landing 5.07 significant strikes per minute.Ā
Go with the slight upset.
OSB Prediction: Julian Erosa (+110)
Josh Parisian (-150) vs. Roque Martinez (+130)
Roque Martinez stock has been floundering over his past two fights, both of which were losses.Ā He is not landing a good percentage of his strikes. Nor is he even attempting them with great frequency. He is waiting for opponents to make errors in judgment while also playing bad takedown defense.
That's a rough combinationāone Josh ParisianĀ should feast on.
Parisian is landing more than seven significant strikes per minute and can win slogs that turn into wrestling matches if he needs to. Some will be concerned about his previous loss toĀ Parker Porter. We're not.
OSB Prediction: Josh Parisian (-150)
