Can St. Louis Stop Anyone?

Blackhawks vs Blues bets ask can St. Louis stop anyone? Yes, both teams have been surprises this season. One has been St. Louis in a bad way. However, Chicago has been a pleasant surprise going 13-11-6 during this early part of the campaign. Players like Tyler Bertuzzi, Connor Bedard, and even Spencer Knight have buoyed a start that has left some bettors downright shellshocked.  The Blackhawks have kept things even (89 goals for and 89 goals against).

The concern with Chicago is how young they are. The bigger problem with St. Louis is they cannot keep from goals from ending up in the back of their net. Their penalty kill was 25th and goals against has hovered around 3.5 almost all year. Teams have been finding it way too easy to score and pile on the goals. St. Louis was blown out on Thursday night by a score of 7-2. Even the hapless Predators had a laugher against St. Louis

Normally, the first tendency is to look toward the home team but we are drawn to Chicago and heavily in the early numbers. Chicago can at least put pucks in the net. However, Chicago struggles at times defensively because they get out of their system. St. Louis has issue call over the place. Jordan Binnington has been particlarly poor all season. Anyone who is in St. Louis knows that General Manager Doug Armstrong is getting antsy to pull the trigger on some moves.

With Joel Hofer projected to start, it will be interesting to say the least). Hofer is a little more consistent compared to Binnington. Unfortunately, at 11-14-7, time is not on the side of the Blues. This is not 2019. St. Louis does not have that miraculous comeback in them. Worse, this game could get away from them on Friday night. Blackhawks vs Blues Bets Lean To The Under

Next, Blackhawks vs Blues bets lean to the under on the game total for Friday night. Now, both of these teams have displayed some offense at times in the first few months. It has been consistency which rears its ugly head. Add in some unfortunate injuries and one gets the idea. For St. Louis, Jordan Kyrou is now out week t0 week and will not play on Friday. That is just one of several examples.

So, the Blackhawks are 19 points out of first place in the NHL's Central Division. Colorado is running away with this a bit in the early going. One of the more surprising aspects is that Chicago has been able to stay around .500 despite a recent cold stretch. Connor Bedard leads the Blackhawks with 42 points in 30 games. They give up and allow just under three goals a game and are sixth on the penalty kick while 10th on the power play. That is not too bad at all.

For us, the Over rolls in at 5.5 goals. It could move to 6 given how few shifts have occurred. A few sites tried to move the Over to -135 but it has stayed steady in the -120 to -130 range with few deviations. There could be quite a few goals in this game but then again, St. Louis may want to tighten things up after what happened in Nashville on Thursday night. Let's risk the under here in an intense, physical contest.

Again, this game could get dragged down a little. St. Louis truly needs some reinforcements that are not coming. Their best course of action is to slow this contest and hope they get enough goaltending and timely scoring.

Lend Us Some Friday Night Props

Blackhawks vs Blues Bets wonder did you want some props for Friday night? One of the fun props may be who scores first. Then again, the anytime goal for Connor Bedard is shortening to +150. Also, Chicago to score 1+ goals on the man advantage is now +105. With the Blues penalty kill not always clicking, this is worth a look given the Blackhawks are just inside the Top 10 in the NHL overall.

There are some combination props to consider if one believes Chicago can pull off the road win. A hedge bet to Chicago and the over then Chicago plus the under would still pay about +155. Both teams to score in the opening 20 is now +165. In the meantime, we like the Blackhawks to get that goal on the power play on Friday night.
