Saturday, October 29th brings our latest Jake Paul bout as the famous Youtuber turned boxer steps in the ring against UFC legend Anderson Silva, who is also no rookie to the sport. Paul vs Silva Preview

Paul is one of the newest fighters on the boxing scene but he continues to make his presence felt. The Problem Child is clearly taking his new profession seriously, but he's still yet to fight an established name in the sport. Fury would've been the first, but that bout fell to pieces. Also, he was set to take on Hasim Rahman Jr as a replacement for Fury, but that also fell through due to weight issues. Paul has shown some significant striking power in his career, collecting four knockouts in his five bouts. His first meeting with Woodley ended in split decision, but the Cleveland native then came back with a vengeance in their next clash, knocking out his opponent in the sixth round. Paul showed massive improvements between those two bouts. The 25-year-old already made it clear before this Silva fight that he grew up an avid fan of the UFC legend but once Saturday rolls around, it'll be all business. This will be a very tough bout for Paul. He is definitely capable of winning, though.

Silva is one of the greatest fighters to ever step in the Octagon and one of Dana White's first prodigies. The Brazilian owns a UFC record with 16 wins in a row and defended his title a total of 10 times. He's got a 1.5-inch reach advantage over Paul, which could definitely help. Silva is known for his knockout power, quickness, and sheer athleticism and he's carried that right over to the ring. He took down a former WBC middleweight champion in Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, absolutely dominating him in almost every category. Silva landed a whopping 99 punches to just 53 for Chavez Jr and ultimately won via split decision. Shortly after that, The Spider put Ortiz on the canvas in the opening round of their bout. Silva might not be the most experienced in boxing, but his skill, strength, and talent in the Octagon have undoubtedly translated to a certain extent. He's also much bigger than Woodley and Ben Askren, the two fighters Paul most recently beat.

Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva Picks

It's actually slightly surprising Paul is the favorite here, even though it's a slim margin. While he's made an impact in the ring in recent months, I do think Paul will lose. Silva is just a different beast. Sure, the Brazilian is now 47 years old but he's still in phenomenal shape and truly has the skill set to beat his opponent. We also have to consider that Silva just took down Chavez Jr, a proven boxer who is far more established than Paul may ever be. Silva will be too much for the Youtube sensation. Paul is going to be humbled by The Spider. At +110 odds, this is a money pick.
