Cyrus Pattinson-800-800-800
Chris Jenkins+500+500+500

At all three sportsbooks, Pattinson is the heavy favorite at -800 odds, while Jenkins comes back at +500. That is a bit surprising since this is just Pattinson's sixth professional fight, while Jenkins has 32 bouts under his belt. There is a six-year difference in age, however.

Fight Preview

After an impressive amateur career, the 28-year-old has enjoyed a swift transition to the professional ranks. He's 5-0-0 so far with three knockouts. In his most recent fight, Pattinson stepped up to 10 rounds and beat Jorick Luisetto via knockout in Nottingham. As an amateur, Pattinson picked up numerous medals, including four golds and a pair of silvers at various tournaments. The southpaw has proven to be a solid boxer so far, but Jenkins will undoubtedly be his toughest test to date. Pattinson does have an advantage here though because he is from Newcastle. The home crowd is surely going to be behind him. That being said, Pattinson must be smart and conserve his energy in this bout against a very experienced opponent. This will be a good match for Pattinson to see where he's at. Plus, he's jumping up a division and a belt is on the line. That always adds motivation.

Jenkins first made his professional debut way back in 2012 and owns a 23-6 record to date, including three draws. The Swansea native does come into this bout in rather poor form, however, losing three of his last four fights. That includes back-to-back defeats to Florian Marku and Tyrone McKenna, both in 2022. He hasn't stepped in the ring since August of last year and at 34, there aren't a lot of years left for Jenkins. This is a clear opportunity to bounce back and shut down a youngster who is trying to gain more momentum. It would be considered an upset if he did take out Pattinson, who is considered one of the brightest young stars in the UK boxing scene.

Cyrus Pattinson vs Chris Jenkins Picks

I personally think the odds are too lopsided. Sure, Pattinson is younger, but Jenkins cannot be taken for granted. That being said, it's probably a better idea to make a specific bet with more value. While Jenkins should definitely give the hometown kid a run for his money, I do think Pattinson wins this bout. That's why we're going to take Pattinson to win by TKO, KO, or DQ at BetUS. at -175, it's worth a pick, especially because Pattinson has knocked out three of his five opponents to date.
