Located in Plainville, its live harness racing season runs from April through November, with a total of 110 live race days, alongside a slots casino operated by Penn National Gaming. Worth noting that the casino is 21+, but horse wagering only required you to be 18.

Suffolk Downs
The Suffolk Downs is the only simulcast venue available in East Boston, open Wednesday through Sunday from 11am.
Unfortunately today it is a simulcast-only wagering venue, but in the past it operated as one of the most storied thoroughbred tracks in New England, with live racing ending in 2019.
The current simulcast-only venue is operated under the ADW partnerships with TVG, FanDuel Racing, TwinSpires, 1/ST Racing, and NYRA Bets. Admission and parking are free.

What happened to Raynham Park?
Raynham Park was a former greyhound racing track in the Raynham area that previously operated a simulcast betting parlour. Unfortunately, the state banned live greyhound racing in 2009, however the venue continued to operate as a simulcast venue.
Unfortunately the betting parlour closed down in late 2025 and is currently inactive.
Raynham Park is located at 1958 Broadway, Raynham. Bettors looking for an active in-person wagering option should use Plainridge Park Casino or Suffolk Downs instead.

For the trivia fans out there, the race is named after the Massachusetts-born Civil War nurse.
The Paul Revere Pace is Plainridge Park’s major spring stakes race for three-year-old pacers, held in April with a purse of $100,000.
The race is one of the first major events of the Plainridge racing season and helps open the track’s annual stakes calendar.
The race is named after Paul Revere, the Massachusetts patriot and silversmith remembered for his famous midnight ride at the start of the American Revolution.
The Battle of Bunker Hill Trot is Plainridge Park’s major spring stakes race for three-year-old trotters, held in May with a purse of $100,000.
The race serves as a companion event to the Paul Revere Pace and gives the Plainridge spring stakes calendar another early-season highlight.
The race is named after the historic 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill, fought in nearby Charlestown during the American Revolution.
Massachusetts horse racing history
The history of horse racing in Massachusetts started way back in 1935 at the Suffolk Downs, built just 62 days after the state legalized pari-mutuel wagering in 1934.
The track's signature race was the Massachusetts Handicap, held between 1935 and 2008, and has hosted a number of famous horses including Seabiscuit, Whirlaway and Cigar.
Unfortunately the racing industry contracted in Massachusetts over time, culminating in the 2009 greyhound racing ban and the closure of Suffolk Downs for live racing in 2019. Today the only remaining live racing venue is Plainridge Park.
