Two of the in-form teams in baseball clash this weekend, so we’re going to take a look at the match-up between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Atlanta Braves in our free MLB betting picks.

In the betting to win the 2022 MLB World Series, the recent poor form of the Yankees has seen them slip down to third favorites in the betting. The LA Dodgers retain the favorites tag at +300. The second position in the betting now belongs to the Houston Astros, who are +425. The Yankees (+500) are now joint third with cross-town rivals, the Mets (+500).
St. Louis Cardinals v Atlanta Braves
The Cardinals and the Braves meet in the clash of the weekend. The Cardinals are 8-2 in their last ten, a run that has seen them elevate themselves to the heady heights of +2500 in the betting to win the 2022 World Series.
In the NL Central, the Cardinals are -700 to win the title. They have a .045 lead over the Milwaukee Brewers (+450). A lead they don’t look like surrendering anytime soon.
The sides are playing across three consecutive nights, starting on Friday. The fixtures look to have more significance to the Braves as things stand. This is because the Cardinals look safe in the race to win the NL Central, but the Braves are hunting down the Mets in the NL East, and Brian Snitker knows his team can’t afford any slip-ups if they want to clinch the division title.

The Braves have significantly closed in on the New York Mets over the past few days, They are now just behind Buck Showalter’s team in the NL East, and this is reflected in the odds with the best MLB betting sites making the Mets -285 to win the division, with the Braves at +210.

Both sides will have had a good look at each other by then, and the shackles will be well and truly released.
Miami Marlins v LA Dodgers
The Marlins have the unenviable task of taking on the LA Dodgers in a four-match mini-series starting on Friday night. Miami sits 4th in the NL East and has little left to play for. They’re unlikely to move up above fourth, and there is little chance of the Nationals catching them either.

As for the Dodgers, they are still the favorites to win the 2022 World Series. But in recent days, there has been the odd strange result thrown in amongst all the outstanding wins. Just this week there was a 4-0 home defeat to the Brewers. But in fairness to the Dodgers, they followed that up with a 10-1 win, and then a 12-6 victory on Wednesday night.
Before this week, they also lost 5-3 and 5-4 to the Brewers, and there was also a 4-0 defeat to the Royals just a couple of weekends ago.

In the recent mini-series between these two sides at Dodgers Stadium, LA won 2-1, 7-0, and 10-3. I can’t go with an overs bet based on those results, and home advantage may also help the Marlins make more of a match of things. Take the Dodgers to win the mini-series instead.
Oakland Athletics v New York Yankees
Bottom of the AL West, Oakland Athletics takes on top of the AL East, New York Yankees in a best of four mini-series starting tonight.
The Athletics have a .368 record this season; the Yankees are .613. It looks like a mismatch, and that’s because it is a mismatch. With it being a four-match series, this gives the Yankees the chance to get back on track and improve on their recent poor (by their standards) 4-6 record.

The four-match series, along with the indifferent form of the Yankees, also gives us a decent bet on the series outcome. Usually, a three-match series is a very one-sided betting contest. So, we could be in luck with some good MLB betting odds.
