In the aforementioned game, Ohtani struck out 10 batters, with 3 walks, and gave up zero runs in 6 innings yet the Angels managed to lose the game 2-1.
This game should be a great matchup because as exciting as Ohtani the player is, the Mariners team might be the only team that can match that level of excitement.
After ending their postseason drought last season, the team has title aspirations on its mind. Leading the excitement for the Mariners is reigning AL Rookie of the Year Julio Rodriguez.
Despite the fanfare and hype Rodriquez and the Mariners have struggled out of the gate, losing four of their last five games.

Chris Flexen will take the mound for the Mariners against the Angels. He has been impressive in his career against the AL West rival, posting a 3-1 record with a 3.27 ERA along with 23 strikeouts in 8 appearances.
Ohtani has never lost to the Mariners, posting a 4-0 record with a 1.66 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 6 appearances. Something has to give in this series finale showdown between the two teams.

Total Runs
While I would love to recommend the Under in this game, I would recommend against it. MLB has implemented rule changes to increase offense, which seems to be working.
Scoring is up across the league, and I know most bettors are just going to look at this matchup and automatically hit the Under on the total.
