The New York Yankees, fresh from mauling the Red Sox twice last weekend, will be facing the Orioles in Baltimore this week. While the LA Dodgers will be looking to continue on their relentless march toward the NL West title when they face the San Francisco Giants at the Dodger Stadium on Saturday night.
Who is the Favourite to win the 2022 MLB World Series?
First, let’s take a look at the latest betting to win the 2022 World Series. The Yankees are still the favorites with the best MLB betting sites. Aaron Boone’s team is +300 to win the title they last won back in 2009. The gap to the Yankees in the odds is getting smaller though. After two annihilations of city rivals, the Angels, the LA Dodgers are now into just +350 to win the World Series.
The gap was wider a couple of weeks back. But a recent record of 9-1 for the Dodgers, has seen them make ground on the Yankees. For the record, at the time of writing, the Yankees' last 10 match record reads 5-5, which would go a long way to explaining the closing of the gap in the betting. It does also ask the question, has the preseason favorites, the LA Dodgers, finally woken up this year?
Elsewhere in the 2022 World Series winner betting, the Houston Astros, the 2017 World Series winner and last season’s runners-up, are at +550. Dusty Baker’s side is quite clear of fourth favorites, the New York Mets at +800, and the defending champions, the Atlanta Braves at +1000.
After those five teams, there is a huge gap to the Seattle Mariners at +2200. The Brewers, Padres, and Blue Jays all follow at +2500.

At the time of writing, in their last ten matches, the Dodgers have a 9-1 record compared to the Giants, which is 7-3.
The Dodgers are on fire and have recently started to look every inch the franchise that started the season as the team to beat. Notable wins for the Dodgers of late include 9-1 and 7-1 wins away at the Angels. They didn’t just win those matches, they were complete hammerings.
Before those two thrashings, the Dodgers were 9-1 in their previous ten, but a lot of those wins were a lot closer.

Can The Giants continue their mini-revival against the Dodgers?
As for the Giants, they have improved lately. The Dodgers sit top of the NL West with a win percentage of .667. But the Giants have quietly moved up to third in the same division with a win percentage of .527.
At home, the Dodgers are 30-13, while on the road the Giants are 22-21, which is pretty decent. Is the form described as pretty decent enough to upset the Dodgers at home though? I suspect not.
In the betting to reach the MLB postseason playoffs, BetOnline is -155 on No for the Giants, and +125 Yes, on Scott Harris’ team reaching the postseason. This suggests the best online sportsbooks aren’t convinced by this latest surge in form.
And neither am I to be honest, and therefore I’m going for the Dodgers to win on the handicap spread, and with five of the Dodgers' last six matches have at least 8 runs in them, I’m also going for overs.
Can in-form Orioles shock the Yankees?
The Orioles sit bottom of the AL West with a win percentage of .500, while the Yankees are top with a percentage of .696. A few weeks ago, this would have been a non-event. In fairness, it might still be!
But in recent days, the Orioles have gone 8-2 in their last ten. During the same period, the Yankees were 5-5.

I’m going to choose the Yankees to win on handicap, but my main MLB betting pick for this match is over in the total runs. I can just see both sides in attack mode, and it could prove to be an entertaining night’s action.
