College Basketball Betting Headlines This Month | Duke & Florida seen as co-favorites, Market Watch & Analysis | June, 2026
As the summer months officially kick into high gear, this OSB college basketball update will go over some of the dust settling on the transfer portal and also some new additions following the NBA Draft withdrawal process. The Duke Blue Devils remain the big dogs of college basketball at +650, but are now joined by the Florida Gators, who have also registered at +650 as well. Rounding out the top three are the Michigan Wolverines (+800), who are the reigning national champions. Indeed, the top trio has been solidified for some time now, but there has also been movement in the next tier below.
Staying in the Big Ten, Illinois rounds out the top five of predicted national title futures contenders at +1500. Meanwhile, Coach Hurley’s UConn Huskies (+1100) have stayed steady near the top of the futures national title rankings. Gonzaga is another team to watch as well in the dark horse conversation at +4000 in the revamped Pac-12 Conference. The Zags are always a contender out west, but it remains to be seen if they can finally break through and win a national championship.
So, for this week’s update, OSB will be going over the latest futures impacting the sport, odds movement, and also some other fantastic insights you can only find at the OSB sports betting guide.
Top storylines Influencing NCAA futures odds
In this portion of the report, OSB, as always, will be focusing on the top of the college basketball world and the main contenders duking it out for the title next year. This core of teams is the oddsmakers’ predicted top dogs for next season.
Duke is +1000 to win the men’s basketball NCAA national title in 2026-27
Arizona is third overall here, with +1500 odds to make a run.
Meanwhile, Michigan rounds out the top segment at +1600.
Largest futures, outright and win total shifts
Regarding how odds have shifted since the recent end of the college basketball season, there have been some minor updates. OSB will be going over how the top heavyweights have changed since the last update in terms of their odds range for potentially taking home the national championship.
- In a prior OSB update, Florida emerged as the preseason favorite at +1000. Then, the Gators were positioned at +1400, which means they have momentum after winning the title at the end of the 2025 season. Since then, the Gators have seen their odds pick up to hover between +700 and +800 and have now landed at being co-favorites at +650. This is perhaps mainly due to the fact that Alex Condon announced he would return for another season, giving bettors confidence it would appear that they can once again contend for a national title as the odds slowly tick up.
- Michigan has also seen a rise, moving from +1300 in some markets to +1600 in one update. Then, in the last update, they moved into the +800 range and have really stayed steady since then. Indeed, while the Wolverines have not moved up as much as the Gators, they still are firmly in the top three conversation for winning a title next season and repeating as champions.
- Regarding the prospective tiers of teams in the latest national title futures rankings, they are as follows: the top three squads under +1000 odds are Duke, Florida, and Michigan. Then, comprising the next tier between +1000 and +2000 are UConn (+1100), Illinois, and the Arizona Wildcats at +1700. Indeed, there is not much conference parity here, with only Michigan and Illinois hailing from the same conference (the Big Ten). So, most of the main contenders have strong shots of winning their conference championships outright and then making a run in the postseason.
- Moving into another team spotlight, this time with Arizona, the Wildcats’ odds have stayed steady around +1600, and in this update, they have fallen slightly to +1700. With head coach Tommy Lloyd and big man Motiejus Krivas returning, the Wildcats have a ton of talent still, but they will have to reload to a degree. This is because star player Koa Peat stayed in the NBA Draft, and Arizona will have to reload. If they can land a big-time late transfer, watch their odds move.
- Another running team to highlight here in each installment will be the UConn Huskies. Coach Hurley’s squad has moved from +1100 after being tabbed as +1200 in the last OSB update. The Huskies return the bulk of their crew from last season, including the likes of Silas Demary Jr. and Braylon Mullins. While the team might be short on future lottery picks, they are stocked with winning and experienced players.
Key transfers and roster changes affecting odds
The transfer portal window has closed, but there is still a variety of players moving across the country that need to be touched on. Additionally, the main storyline has been the NBA Draft withdrawal process and how it has been affecting certain teams and their future odds.
- Starting in the Big East, St. John’s seems to be the darling of this update. In many ways, the Red Storm has had one of the better offseasons across the country. At +2500, they are not only a contender to win the Big East, but also to make a surprise title run as well under legendary head coach Rick Pitino. This past offseason alone, they added Quinn Ellis and Ian Jackson, and just recently saw Tounde Yessoufou join from Baylor. The last being one of the most impactful players available after the withdrawal deadline.
- Louisville (+2000 to +2200) has had a great offseason as well, picking up a handful of dynamic transfers. This includes additions like Flory Bidunga (Kansas) and Gabe Dynes. The latter was widely considered by many national outlets as the No. 1 portal player available this cycle and has now propped up the Cardinals as a legitimate ACC contender to Duke.
- Finally, some other teams gaining steam are Tennessee (+2500) and Texas A&M. The Volunteers picked up one of the highest-rated wings available in the last transfer portal class in Juke Harris, giving them some fantastic scoring punch. Meanwhile, the Aggies scored PJ Haggerty, another highly-rated guard in the portal who immediately raises A&M’s ceiling this upcoming season. Of course, both have a ton of tough competition in the SEC.
Futures market overview
The section below will go over some different conference championship favorites and who some of the most notable contenders across the country are, from the ACC to the Big Ten and beyond. Many of these schools are blue-blooded contenders and familiar names at the top of the college basketball leaderboards.
- Our update once again starts in the ACC where Duke is still the strong favorite. While their odds have stayed around -300 at some outlets to win the ACC, the gap is perhaps much closer than that. Since the last update, North Carolina added Alexandros Samodurov, which improved the Tar Heels’ frontcourt depth. Meanwhile, Louisville also scored a solid transfer pickup in Flory Bidunga, one of the bigger transfer wins of the cycle. So, at this point, Duke is still the strong favorite, but Louisville and UNC have made up the gap to a degree.
- Meanwhile, the Big Ten market has changed the most since the last update. The Wolverines are still viewed strongly overall, but it is no longer “Michigan, then Purdue” in the conference. Per some outlets, Michigan at +800 to win the national title and Illinois at +1500 are the new top dogs here in the summer months. Purdue has fallen some, all the way to +5000 in some futures markets. Additionally, Michigan State is also in the mix for the national title, making the Big Ten extremely competitive.
- This is another conference with a lot of volatility, but the top has changed some from the Arizona/Houston combo to those two, plus Kansas and Texas Tech. Again, the big factor here could be Milan Momcilovic and where he lands. If Arizona landed him over Kentucky and Louisville, then this would increase their Big 12 title pricing and perhaps overall future national title markets. The main takeaway is that the Wildcats and Cougars still lead as major players, but the Jayhawks (+2500 to win the title) and Cougars (+2800) are ones to watch, especially as these NBA Draft decisions settle down.
- As always, pay close attention to roster additions and omissions as the summer months roll on. There could still be some additional dominoes to fall, which is covered below.
Market trend to watch this week
Noted in the last report, the market trend to watch last time was the NBA Draft withdrawal process, and which players were leaving from there and potentially coming back into the collegiate ranks. So, a name to watch is Milan Momcilovic, who is still uncommitted after he also withdrew from the NBA Draft process. Per sources, the former Iowa State Cyclone forward remains one of the most important uncommitted names after the withdrawal deadline, and teams like Kentucky have been reported to be in the mix for his services.
So, for futures wagering specifically, perhaps the single biggest variable now is finding out who Momcilovic will play for. Regarding overall “buzz” across the college basketball landscape, squads like St. John’s, Tennessee (+2500), Duke, Kentucky, and UNC seem to be trendy picks for futures markets. Indeed, should Momcilovic sign with one of these contenders, their future odds will surely creep up by some degree. Tennessee has already claimed one of the deepest portal hauls in the country at this point.
Upcoming factors that could shift odds
Though the national transfer portal officially closed in April, there are still players out there that could be pick-ups for teams, and we saw that recently with St. John’s. Already viewed as a national title dark horse at +2500, the Red Storm landed Tounde Yessoufou after he withdrew from the NBA Draft process. So, if someone had made a future on St. John’s from earlier this spring, this is a fantastic development. A freshman at Baylor last season, Yessoufou averaged a stellar 17.8 points per game and will be a huge lift for the Red Storm, potentially.
Another name to watch is Greek frontcourt player Alexandros Samodurov from Panathinaikos. North Carolina (+3000 to win the national title), just picked him up, and he gives the Tar Heels some more depth and also versatile size as well. So, combined with some other offseason additions, UNC’s ceiling looks higher than it did about this time a month ago. After that, OSB will be entering this summer, seeing how injuries and perhaps off-the-court issues could impact team rosters.
