OSB Singing Old Rocky Top With Tennessee Wednesday

February comes to a thunderous end as the SEC touts one whale of a matchup on Wednesday night. With a couple of weeks until the SEC Tournament starts, time is ticking down quickly. At Online Sports Betting, we look at a matchup which might even determine a potential top seed in the SEC. So, first, we look at Auburn vs Tennessee Bets featuring the Tigers and Volunteers. They tangle not only to win game number 22 but for first place in the SEC.

  • WHAT: Auburn Tigers versus Tennessee Volunteers
  • WHEN: Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, 7:00 pm ET on ESPN2 or streamed on FUBO TV
  • WHERE: Thompson-Boling Arena, Knoxville, Tennessee
  • WHY: Elite SEC Wednesday Matchup

The bettors get throughly enamored with two 21-win teams. Both have 10+ wins in the SEC which is not easy. The Wednesday NCAA Basketball Picks eye up the best of the best. Now, betting on NCAA College Men's basketball futures is fun this time of year. However, we head into a different tact here. Here is our table for the two teams tonight, thanks to MyBookie Online Sportsbook.

Auburn vs Tennessee Bets Volunteer As Tribute

Auburn vs Tennessee Bets volunteer as tribute. That is correct. Now, this game has all the makings of a classic. For anyone, that saw Baylor and Houston, it was a contest that had a little of everything. The potential is moderate for such a game here. Despite that, there lies some potential for Tennessee putting down a stomping on Auburn. Keep in mind, Tennessee has won 11 of their 14 conference games and is 13-1 at home.

Once again, the mantra is simple here. The SEC has become quite the gauntlet. Teams try to survive basically most nights. Look at Kentucky and Mississippi State on Tuesday night as a prime example. Teams get on a roll and can those Bulldogs play at home. As for Tennessee, their schedule in SEC regular season play concludes with Auburn, Alabama, South Carolina, and Kentucky. Talk about a difficult task to run the table. Tennessee can and has done it before.

Let us ride into Wednesday night and go over some of the possible scenarios from this contest. Again, expectations are high and only one team will come out victorious.

Tennessee Is On Quite A Little Roll

Auburn vs Tennessee bets know that Tennessee is on quite a little roll. Yes, the Volunteers have 11 wins in the conference. More than likely, they will be one of the top two or three seeds in the SEC Tournament in a couple of weeks. What is unknown is how this team will fare come the NCAA Tournament err big dance. For what it is worth, Tennessee has never been a 1 seed heading into the Big Dance.

This may be their best chance of achieving that goal. Now, the Volunteers have the inside track on getting that top seed and a win on Wednesday night goes a long way in potentially a bigger number one seed come March Madness time. Tennessee even has won a few road games where others might have stumbled. Their defensive rating is almost Top 10 in the nation while their SRS ranks sixth and they still average just over 80 points a contest.

One of the big reasons for that is Dalton Knecht. Knecht averages 20.1 points per game and five rebounds a night. He finds holes in defenses and exploits them well. The swing guard shoots 40.3% from three-point range. That is a frighteningly high percentage. Auburn must contain Knecht from the perimeter as that will set up his drives to the hoop. For us, the Jonas Aidoo versus Johni Broome looms the largest of all matchups.

Again, Auburn features three players from the Top 100 RSCI but Tennessee has six in all. That interior clash ranks as the biggest key for Wednesday night. If Aidoo and Tennessee hold their own, it could be a long night for Auburn. We have seen that more lately against the likes of Kentucky and Florida.

Auburn vs Tennessee Bets And 6.5 Points?

So, what about Auburn vs Tennessee bets rolling at 6.5 points? The Volunteers surprise some being favored at 6.5 points and others believed the number might go a little lower. Either way, it ranks in as a solid number. February has been some kind of crazy month and March figures to roar in like a lion. With tons of coverage at Online Sports Betting, we get you ready for what lies ahead.

The Tigers come in ready themselves. Auburn unloaded 97 points against Georgia but again 59 and 65 points on the road in those last two contests weight heavy on the minds of wagerers. Again and again, Bruce Pearl's Tigers squad keeps coming up a bit short when a road effort is truly needed. It is why the advantage pivots to Tennessee over and over. That little extra experience along with Knecht's big-game ability seems to rule the roost.

There goes the idea of our best bet. Taking Tennessee at 6.5 points may not even be enough at -105. If one wants to climb the ladder a bit, why not take it up a point? Expect a plus number potentially around +110 maybe even +115 depending on where some money falls early on Wednesday.

What About The Under Wednesday?

Finally, what about the Under Wednesday? This game keeps inching down slowly but not too much. Even at 149.5 points, the number is EVEN. That is solid enough to pull the rip cord and drop the hammer. Tennessee will attempt to keep the score down. If Auburn scores just under 70, this one likely hits as Tennessee goes in the 75-80 range. Again, a score of around 77-68 or so would not be that surprising.
