Premier League Darts Night 15 Picks; Can Jonny Clayton seal his place at finals night?

Night 15 of the 2023 Premier League Darts comes from the Utilita Arena in Sheffield. We’re getting down to the business end of the competition now, and that means the big beasts are starting to flex their muscles. It’s tight at the top between Gerwyn Price, MVG, and Michael Smith. All three will want to make their mark, but who will win in Sheffield? We take a closer look with our latest free darts betting picks.

  • What; Premier League Darts - Night 15
  • Where; Utilita Arena, Sheffield, England
  • When; Thursday, May 11th, 2023
  • Time; 2 pm ET

We're now down to the final two weeks of the Premier League, and after an enthralling night in Manchester last week, three or the four places for finals night were decided. Michael Smith was the winner on the night, and Smith's third night win of the season saw him confirm his place at the O2 Arena where the title will be decided later this month.

Joining Smith at the finals night will be Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen. All three cannot now be caught on the points table, and it's between Jonny Clayton and Nathan Aspinall for the fourth and final spot.

Betting to win 2023 Premier League Darts

In the betting to win the competition outright, the best online darts betting sites are still favoring the Iceman. Gerwyn Price is just +175 to win his first ever Premier League. Price is just ahead of Michael van Gerwen who is +185, with Michael Smith at +300. The other two players remaining in the betting are Jonny Clayton at +750, and Nathan Aspinall at +1400.

Betting to win Night 15

Moving onto the betting to win Night 15, and again it's Gerwyn Price (+200) who is the favorite. Price is followed by MVG (+325) and Michael Smith (+400).

Outside of the big three, the betting reads Jonny Clayton (+800), Nathan Aspinall (+1000), Peter Wright (+1200), Chris Dobey (+1200), and Dimitri Van den Bergh (+1400). Full odds can be found below on our darts odds table. All odds are taken from the best online sports betting sites for darts, and you can read more about them on our online sportsbooks review page.

Quarter-finals

  1. Gerwyn Price vs Nathan Aspinall
  2. Chris Dobey vs Peter Wright
  3. Michael van Gerwen vs Michael Smith
  4. Jonny Clayton vs Dimitri Van den Bergh

Semi-finals

  1. Gerwyn Price/Nathan Aspinall vs Chris Dobey/Peter Wright
  2. Michael van Gerwen/Michael Smith vs Jonny Clayton/Dimitri Van den Bergh

With both MVG and Michael Smith squaring off in their quarter-final, the favorite to win on the night is Gerwyn Price. But it's the battle between Jonny Clayton and Nathan Aspinall for the last spot at final's night that is the most intriguing.

Nathan Aspinall seems to be at a disadvantage to Clayton due to having to face Gerwyn Price at the quarter-final stage. In the other half of the draw, Clayton faces Dimitri Van den Bergh.

A win for Clayton would see him playing either MVG or Michael Smith in the semi-final. But if Aspinall falls at the first hurdle and Clayton makes it to the semi-final, then Clayton will move clear of his rival in the points table. It's hard to see Aspinall beating Price, and it's also hard to see Clayton getting beyond the semi-finals.

Our Night 15 Winner Pick

And with a whole heap of pressure on both Clayton and Aspinall, our pick to win Night 15 is Michael van Gerwen. The Dutchman defeated Gerwyn Price last week, and on Sunday he won the Belgian Darts Open, beating Luke Humphries 8-6 in the final. MVG looks back to form, and that's why he's our betting pick to win Night 15.

Gerwyn Price -240 vs Nathan Aspinall +200

Gerwyn Price suffered a setback losing to MVG at this stage last week. The Iceman had the better average (104.42), but still lost 6-2. This week Price will be looking to bounce back against Nathan Aspinall who is desperate for points to try and secure his place at finals night.

The pressure will be on Aspinall, and as a result, we see him falling short. We're making a win for Gerwyn Price, our pick for this match.

Chris Dobey +113 vs Peter Wright -133

This match is a bit of a non-event. The only thing either man has to play for is pride. Although in the case of Peter 'Snakebite' Wright, winning one of Night's 15 or 16 could see him climb off the bottom of the table.

Snakebite was back to his worst again last week. His 6-5 defeat to Jonny Clayton came with an average of just 89.21. As for Chris Dobey, he thrashed Dimitri Van den Bergh 6-2 in his quarter-final, before surrendering meekly to Jonny Clayton in the semi-final (6-3).

We do think that Chris Dobey is better value and we make him our pick to win this match.

Michael van Gerwen -140 vs Michael Smith +120

This looks like the match of the night on paper. The in-form MVG, fresh from his triumph in Belgium, against the in-form Smith, fresh from his back-to-back Premier League wins.

Somethings gotta give, and we think it will be Michael Smith. Michael van Gerwen is our pick to win the night, so we also expect him to win this match.

Jonny Clayton -150 vs Dimitri Van den Bergh +130

Jonny Clayton has to win this match. If Nathan Aspinall beats the Iceman, Clayton needs to win this just to keep pace. If as expected, Price beats Aspinall, then Clayton needs to win this to gain extra points on his rival for the one remaining spot available on finals night. We're going for a win for Jonny Clayton.
