Formula 1 USA Bets - Grand Prix By The Numbers
The Formula 1 season moves late into October with the USA Grand Prix. This weekend's Formula 1 online betting options are attractive because we have a few twists for the ride.
The first weekend of October brought us a deluge on the Japan track. With the world title clinched, we now want to see whether Max Verstappen will keep winning. Now, it is time to examine the latest 2022 Formula 1 Grand Prix by the numbers for the contenders heading to this Texas course.

Formula 1 USA Bets - Okay, Now What?
Again, with the 2022 Formula 1 Championship decided, some bettors have already asked about this. Okay, now what? Bluntly, this is an expected question. Will numbers start to wobble to longer shots, perhaps, or away from Max Verstappen? The Belgian clinched his second consecutive championship more than a week ago. Is 12 wins enough for the Red Bull driver? Will there be a 13th? 14th? One gets the idea here.
Okay, Circuit of the Americas features the black layout. What do we mean? It is a longer circuit (3.426-miles around) and features 20 turns. The Texas track features two long straightaways. One exists from turn 11 to turn 12, and the other is from turn 20 back to the first corner. Those figure to be two of the prime passing zones on Sunday afternoon.
So, this 50-lap race may see some pit strategy wrinkles. It does seem like this time; the weather will be better. Sun and temperatures around 85 should greet drivers. Lastly, DRS should come into play more. Maybe, there will be more passing and more intrigue.
Formula 1 USA Bets - What To Do With Verstappen?
Okay, what to do with Max Verstappen in the Formula 1 USA Bets? Here is the problem. As mentioned above, he has won 12 races and been on 14 podiums this season. What else does he have left to prove? There are still four more races. At the start of the season, no one thought the world title would be decided already. Will Verstappen race more loose than usual? Some have debated whether he has done so for the past month or two.
Last week, Verstappen rode the deluge and precisely negotiated the Japanese course on the way to victory. By the end, the #1 car was more than 27 seconds ahead of teammate Sergio Perez. Charles Leclerc was more than 31 seconds behind. The course in Texas figures to be a little bit closer. The Belgian driver won the race there last year by 1.333 seconds over Lewis Hamilton. That was quite a race to watch. The two racers were a cut above the rest.
Max Verstappen still holds court over anyone else. The -225 is not so attractive right now, but it is not a surprise opening for the Formula 1 odds. Yes, he won the pole in 2021, but numbers are off the board for qualifying. Look back later in the week if numbers come back online.
For other wagers, consider taking Verstappen early on for 2023 Formula 1 Futures. Yes, those numbers are out. The Belgian comes in early at -150. The interesting twist is that Lewis Hamilton (+350) is ahead of Charles Leclerc (+400). Maybe, the bookies are on to something. Either way, win 13 this weekend is possible for Verstappen at Texas.
Better Options Than Charles Leclerc
Better options than Charles Leclerc exist on Sunday. Formula 1 USA Bets looks away from Charles Leclerc a bit. The Ferrari driver finished third in the rain-soaked race earlier in Japan. Considering what he did in Texas last year, not many seem to have confidence in the Frenchman to cross the checkered line first on Sunday.
Time was on his side during the first qualifying run, where he topped the list. Afterward, his second and third runs only trimmed a little time off. It was not enough as he started fifth. Leclerc managed only to move up one position during the 56-lap race. He finished outside the podium. Could that happen again on Sunday?
That seems possible. The feeling is that Leclerc may finish third or fourth and qualify at about the same position. His car does not seem as fast as the Red Bulls in Texas. Testing revealed the Mercedes could even be a bit quicker. It will be intriguing to see how qualifying pans out. Concentrating on drivers like Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz, and Sergio Perez are potentially wiser choices.
Of the three drivers, Sergio Perez has the longest number and is worth looking for Sunday’s race. Perez has won twice this year and finished third last year. He might have contended if not for some pit and early speed issues.
Are Any Longer Shots Possible?
Are any longer shots possible for Sunday? Unfortunately, barring something unforeseen, that answer may be no. Max Verstappen's drive may be more of a benefit to Sergio Perez than anyone else. Only four drivers have won a race in 2022, and only three have won more than once.
