With the LA Dodgers joining the New York Yankees at the top of the betting to win the 2022 MLB World Series, attention now turns to the weekend fixtures and our free MLB betting picks for this Saturday.
The exceptional form of the Dodgers has seen them close the gap on the Yankees in the MLB betting to win the 2022 World Series. Elsewhere, and the Houston Astros have also closed in on the two betting favorites. Last year’s beaten finalists are top of the AL West with a win percentage of .646. But they have stuttered a touch recently. Bizarrely, it’s against what is fast emerging as Dusty Baker’s banana skin team, the Oakland Athletics.
They may be sitting bottom of the AL West with an awful .376 win percentage, but Oakland has defeated the Astros in five of their last six meetings. If only the Athletics could play the Astros every week!
Yankees Looking to Lock Out the Royals
At the time of writing the New York Yankees are sitting on a 10-match record of 4-6. They still top the AL East with a winning percentage of .667, despite being in a bit of a sticky spell.
Second in the division is the Blue Jays, who are flying with a 8-2 record. The Blue Jays have just also made the Yankees' two recent wins over the Red Sox (14-1 and 13-2) look tame by hammering Alex Cora's team 28-5.

In the betting to win the AL East, the Yankees are still in charge though. The best online betting sites have them as short as -10000 to hold off the challenge from the in-form Toronto Blue Jays.
Can Improving Royals Get Anything From The Yankees Series?
Onto this weekend and the Yankees are hosting the Kansas City Royals. They are playing four times in four days at the Yankees Stadium, and with the Royals sitting bottom of the AL Central on a win percentage of just .398, the Yankees will be looking to get back on track.

Kansas has been staging a bit of a revival of late though and they are 4-6 in their last ten matches. They have been flipping with the Tigers at the bottom of the division. The two games that sum them up the best though were the recent back-to-back fixtures against the LA Angels. On Monday night, Kansas defeated the Angels 7-0 at the Kauffman Stadium. Then 24 hours later against the same opponents in the same venue, they lost 6-0.
The latter result probably sums Kansas up more than the former. And it’s because of this inconsistency that I expect to see a lockout for New York over the next four nights. Onto Saturday’s betting pick, and as there will be no value in taking the Yankees to win on the Moneyline, so, I’m going for the Yankees to beat the Royals on the handicap.

Dodgers looking to stay on a Roll
Onto the LA Dodgers, and I know I said something similar last week, but Dave Roberts’ team is now on a serious roll. I probably also said they are looking like the team everyone expected them to be in pre-season. And that's because they are!
Currently, on an 8-2 run from their last ten matches, the Dodgers are now running away with the NL West and are also challenging the Yankees to be the 2022 World Series winner betting favorites.
In the betting to win the NL East, there are hardly any books still open such is their dominance. And of those still offering odds, you would need to remortgage your property to be able to afford a bet that would win you just a handful of dollars.
Storming July For The Dodgers
The Dodgers are 18-4 in July, and two of those defeats came back-to-back against the Nationals at the start of this week. LA did set the record straight by winning 7-1 on Wednesday.
Coming up next for the Dodgers is a visit to Colorado to play four matches away at the Rockies.

Away from home, a lock-out might be less likely for the Dodgers than the Yankees. But I still think they are in the form to do it. With regards to Saturday’s match, I’m taking the Dodgers to win on the handicap and I’m also going for over in the total runs market.
