NASCAR Quaker State 400 Picks

After a thrilling race over the weekend at Road America where Tyler Reddick came in first place, NASCAR is back at it this weekend with the Quaker State 400 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The race will take place on Sunday, July 10th at 3 PM ET in Georgia.  In total, drivers will complete 400.4 miles in this race, which consists of 260 laps. The first two stages include 80 laps each, while the final stage is 100. Keep reading for the NASCAR picks.

Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, and Ross Chastain, who are 1,2,3 in the Cup Series standings, are the favorites here. However, Kurt Busch, who sits in sixth spot, is a driver to watch, too. He's won the Quaker State 400 in three straight years.

NASCAR Quaker State 400 Prediction

Odds aren't quite available just yet, but the top three in the table will be looking to bounce back here. Chase Elliott, who is leading with 624 points, looked to have the Kwik Trip title in the bag last weekend, but with just 16 laps left, he slipped up and Tyler Reddick passed him for good. Nonetheless, Elliott still has two first-place finishes this season in Nashville and Dover. He ultimately ended up in second place at Road America and notched another 38 points, giving him a substantial lead in the Cup Series standings. He finished in seventh place in Atlanta in 2021 and will be hoping to improve upon that on Sunday. Given his recent form in past weeks, he's certainly in good shape to contend and could be a viable option in best betting strategies.

Ryan Blaney has yet to secure a first-place finish in 2022, but the Ford driver owns six top-5 finishes and remains 33 points behind Elliott with eight races ahead. Blaney is coming off an 11th place showing at Road America, which actually ended a streak of three consecutive top-10 finishes. However, in Nashville, Blaney showed very well, ending up in third spot. That was his best showing yet in the 2022 NASCAR season. As for Atlanta, he finished in fifth place last year.

Ross Chastain is another driver who is a serious threat to win Quaker State 400. He trails Blaney by only two points right now and could potentially move into second place with a quality performance here. He's one of 13 different drivers who have won races in 22', taking home first place at the legendary Talladega and Circuit of the Americas. Road America wasn't all bad for Chastain either, finishing in fourth place. He's now secured top-10 spots in the last four races. Needless to say, Chastain comes into Atlanta in solid form and is a threat to be the top dog.

Kyle Larson is driver to keep an eye on here. He actually raced in Xfinity Series and Cup Series last weekend at Road America, coming in second and third place, respectively. Larson currently sits in fourth in the Cup Series standings. His lone first-place finish was in California back in February.

Kyle Busch is a 20-year veteran and one of the most experienced drivers around. To be honest, he's dealt with some brutal luck this season, from flat tires, pit road problems, and weather, among others, he could've had more wins under his belt. There is one reason in particular why Busch may be a contender here. He typically thrives on this raceway, previously winning twice in the Xfinity Series and six more times in the Trucks Series. Atlanta is evidently a familiar track for Busch and that could surely play a key part in where he finishes come Sunday. He is also coming off a brutal 29th-place finish at Road America and will be poised to bounce back.

NASCAR picks

There are a lot of different drivers here that could potentially come out on top. However, I'm liking the current leader, Chase Elliott. He's driving very well as of late and after a runner-up finish last weekend and a top spot placing the week prior, all signs point to Elliott coming through here and solidifying his lead at the top of the NASCAR Cup Series standings.
