The Panthers are a slim favorite at -110 odds, while the Canes come back at +100. Every single game in the series has been decided by just one goal, therefore, it's not surprising to see the sportsbooks barely differentiating the two teams.

Canes on The Ropes

Carolina was one of the best clubs in the East this season and was seen as a team who could end Florida's Cinderella run in the conference finals. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. Their usual high-flying offense is struggling to produce, scoring just three times in as many games after netting more than four goals per contest in the Devils series in the second round.

While losing in overtime in both Games 1 and 2 was a heartbreaker, the Hurricanes simply just couldn't get it done Monday. They actually outshot Florida 32-17 but Sergei Bobrovsky was rock solid in goal, making 32 saves.

The reality is the big guns aren't stepping up. Jordan Martinook and Sebastian Aho were brilliant in the previous two rounds but have failed to even score through three outings against the Panthers. With Andrei Svechnikov out, these two in particular need to play better like they did earlier in the postseason. If they don't again Wednesday, it's likely going to mean a clean sweep.

Panthers' Run Continues

What a story. Florida barely squeaked into the playoffs but boy, have they made their stay worth it. Paul Maurice's squad started off with a bang by eliminating the Cup favorite Boston Bruins in the first round, one of the best teams in NHL history on paper. Then round two saw them knock off the Toronto Maple Leafs, who thought they were getting a favorable matchup until the Panthers took them down in five games.

Although Florida isn't scoring a ton of goals in this current series, the team is just simply getting it done on both ends of the ice. Bobrovsky has let in just three goals and is proving to be one of the best netminders in the world again, while Matthew Tkachuk is continuing to shine. He's scored twice and tallied an assist and now sits at 19 points for the postseason.

Tkachuk did his part in Game 3, setting up Sam Reinhart for the lone goal in the second period. Now, the Panthers have the opportunity to put the Canes to sleep in front of the Florida faithful and officially make their first Stanley Cup appearance since 1996.
