- When: Saturday, November 25th

Saturday's clash between David Benavidez and Demetrius Andrade may not be a title fight, but it has major implications as to who could potentially get the chance to try and dethrone Canelo Alvarez in the future in the super middleweight division. This bout will take place at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas and can be seen on Showtime on Pay-Per-View. Benavidez has had no shortage of drama in his career to this point. We'll get into that more below. That being said, he's coming off an impressive victory against Caleb Plant earlier in the year. As for Andrade, he beat Demond Nicholson in January. Both of these guys are two-time world champs. Continue reading for the David Benavidez vs Demetrius Andrade picks.

Can Benavidez Get it Done?
Benavidez has been dominant since turning professional. He owns a stellar 27-0 record with a mind-boggling 23 knockouts. In fact, the Phoenix, Arizona native is the youngest-ever super middleweight champion, claiming the belt at just 20 years old. He's held the WBC title twice but lost it both times. He tested positive for cocaine in 2018 and then missed weight in the summer of 2018, resulting in the belt being stripped from him once again.
Despite that, Benavidez is truly an elite talent when focused, as you can see by the numbers. He will be defending the interim super middleweight WBC title on Saturday after retaining it in March in a unanimous decision win over Caleb Plant. Benavidez landed 180 power punches compared to only 68 for Plant. His opponent actually threw more overall punches, but Benavidez came on strong in the late rounds to swing the fight in his favor.
Even though this bout is definitely his focus right now, Benavidez is undoubtedly already looking ahead to potentially facing Canelo. And to be brutally honest, Benavidez is probably the most difficult opponent for Alvarez in his next fight if they do make it happen. But first, Benavidez has to defeat another two-time champion in Andrade, who is a stud in his own right.
Andrade is no Pushover
Andrade is actually nine years older than Benavidez at 35 years of age. His two belts came at junior middleweight and middleweight, so this is a step up for him. The Rhode Island native is 32-0 with 19 KOs in his career and has been criticized for being a boring fighter, similar to the young Shakur Stevenson. He's actually tried to fight Canelo several times but never had any success in setting something up. But if Andrade pulls off the upset Saturday, Saul won't be able to ignore him any longer.
Andrade first turned pro in 2008 and has been utterly dominant ever since. This is his first opportunity to really make his name heard across the sport. Better late than never. While Andrade is a very skilled southpaw fighter, he's never faced any fantastic opponents. No question asked Benavidez is his most difficult task yet.
The veteran could cause some problems for Benavidez, though. The Mexican Monster hasn't fought a southpaw in a very long time. 12 fights, in fact. Andrade is quick, shifty, and likes to jump around the ring while Benavidez is a powerful puncher with serious knockout power. Andrade likes to avoid contact as much as possible and has mostly fought guys below his talent level, so he must be careful here or else he could be laying on the canvas relatively early. Only time will tell.
David Benavidez vs Demetrius Andrade Picks
I do think this will be an interesting fight. But, to me, Andrade doesn't stand a chance. He's never seen someone like Benavidez, who has more talent and youth is on his side. Given his knockout percentage, I'm taking The Boogeyman to win by KO at +120 odds. It offers a whole lot more value than the steep moneyline.
