Terence Crawford-170-165-170

Crawford, who is a couple of years older than Spence Jr, is the favorite with -170 odds for an implied win probability of 62.96%. Crawford comes back at +140 and has a 41.67% chance of coming out victorious in this bout. The total in rounds sits at 10.5. It could be a marathon.

Fight Preview

Spence Jr is a 33-year-old southpaw out of Long Island, New York. He owns an impressive 28-0 record in his career including a whopping 22 knockouts. In other words, Spence Jr is extremely powerful. A gold medalist as an amateur, Spence has proven to be one of the most feared fighters in the sport.

It's been over a year since he last fought, knocking out Yordenis Ugas last April in Dallas in the 10th round. There was a moment of concern in that fight when he took a right hook from Ugas, but Spence quickly recovered and cruised to the finish line, using his sheer strength to put Ugas on the canvas. One of his best moves is the powerful one-two combo. Spence also has a very good jab that can stun opponents.

Spence is probably a bit stronger than Crawford, but that doesn't necessarily mean this bout will go his way. But, there is so much on the line for him here. Titles, pride, money, and potentially being regarded as the best welterweight ever. Oh, and of course, his unbeaten record would be extended to 29-0. That's legendary in itself. A KO may be a big ask, though.

Crawford stands at 5 foot 8 and hails from Omaha, Nebraska. He's also a southpaw. Crawford is 35 years of age and has more fights under his belt than Spence Jr, posting a 39-0 record. Flawless. That includes 30 knockouts. Crawford is the real deal.

"Bud" last stepped in the ring in his hometown in December, knocking out David Avanesyan in the sixth round to retain the WBO welterweight belt. Crawford was utterly dominant as per usual. In fact, he's knocked out eight oppositions in a row.

The name of the game for Crawford is boxing IQ. He's incredibly bright in the ring and possesses all the tools you need to succeed. He's powerful, quick, has great footwork, and also defends very well. Yes, Spence Jr may have more overall power, but Crawford is likely the better all-around fighter. That doesn't mean he will win, though.

Seeing one or the other on the canvas feels very unlikely here. Crawford usually knocks out opponents, but Spence Jr is a whole different beast and probably his toughest foe yet. This could turn out to be a technical fight that does the distance. Although Shakur Stevenson admitted himself he believes someone will hit the canvas here, I'm not sold.

Errol Spence Jr vs Terence Crawford Picks

Honestly, Spence Jr's best strategy of attack would be to steamroll Crawford and use his size advantage because it's well known that Crawford is more technical, and if they go strictly boxing, the Nebraskan will win. However, I just have a feeling the younger Spence Jr will outlast Crawford here. I do not think it will end in a knockout so I'd just straight up take the moneyline while also betting on the over in rounds. It may go the distance but at the very least, it'll hit over 10.5.
