Tommy Fury a Massive Favorite to Beat KSI in All-English Clash
  • What: KSI vs Tommy Fury
  • When: Saturday, October 14th
  • Where: AO Arena, Manchester, England

Get ready for a busy Saturday night in Manchester. After Logan Paul and Dillon Danis settle their differences in the co-main event, Youtuber-turned-boxer KSI will face off with Tyson Fury's brother Tommy Fury at the AO Arena in the main event. KSI, full name Olajide Olayinka Williams "JJ" Olatunji, knocked out FaZe Temperrr in the first round back in January before a no-contest in May but this will surely be a more difficult fight. As for Fury, he won via split decision against Jake Paul in his last bout. This should be an entertaining clash.

Fury, who has a lot more experience in the boxing world, comes in as a deserving favorite. He sits at -450 moneyline odds for an implied win probability of 81.82%. KSI comes back at +360 and has a mere 21.74% chance of taking home the victory. This fight was initially deemed an exhibition but it was recently listed as professional on BoxingRec.

Toughest Test Yet For KSI

KSI is just one of many influencers who is trying to make his mark in the boxing world. The Brit initially rose to prominence on social media, mostly on YouTube. That popularity eventually grew to various businesses including restaurants and energy drinks. KSI is also in the music game in the UK and has seen certain songs top the charts in the country.

When it comes to boxing, KSI made his boxing debut against Joe Weller in 2018 before a pair of fights with Logan Paul, who is now his business partner for Prime Hydration. The second bout between the two in November of 2019 was considered a professional match and he ultimately came out victorious. Although he's fought many times since, that was his only pro fight.

It wasn't until August of last year where KSI got in the ring again in exhibition action. Not only did he quickly knock out rapper Swarmz in thrilling fashion but he also put Luis Alcaraz Pineda on the canvas on the same night. While the opponents weren't exactly all that difficult, it showed KSI certainly has some talent.

As previously mentioned, he then knocked out FaZe Temperrr in January before initially winning against Joe Fournier a couple of months later. However, due to an accidental elbow, the match was deemed a no-contest. Fury is easily the best fighter KSI has ever faced. He has his work cut out for him here.

Another Win For Fury?

The half-brother of Tyson Fury, Tommy hasn't exactly had the same road in boxing. While he's been fighting since he was a young kid, Fury first arrived on the scene through the show Love Island where he eventually met his fiancee. The Manchester native didn't have an amateur career but instead made his pro debut in 2018 on home soil. He owns a perfect 9-0 record and will be looking to beat another influencer after besting Jake Paul in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in February.

Before that win, Fury beat Daniel Bocianski and Anthony Taylor. Although fighting KSI won't exactly do a lot for Fury's desire to fight more established opponents, he will rake in a bag of money just like he did against Paul. Fury isn't known for knocking out opponents too often with just four of them and honestly, he'll probably rely on outboxing KSI here.

That being said, KSI can't be underestimated, either. He's shown some impressive skills in past bouts and Logan Paul was no pushover in 2019. The 30-year-old should give Fury a run for his money. Plus, there's a bit of a rivalry between the two boxers which could very well add some fuel to the fire. After KSI won vs Paul, Fury called him out for a fight but KSI said he wanted to focus on music. Four years later, it will finally happen on British soil and more importantly, Manchester territory, where Fury is from.

KSI vs Tommy Fury Picks

This may seem like a no-brainer pick given Fury's past opponents compared to KSI's, but I'm going to take the underdog to pull off the upset. I believe he's capable of doing so.
