Must-Make Betting Picks For Bellator 300

Bellator 300 is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, event in promotion history. There are three different title fights and we have expert betting picks for each of those Bellator 300 clashes. You’re going to want to read this if you want to make money this weekend.

  • What: Bellator 300
  • When: Saturday, October 7
  • Where: Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California

Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Brent Primus Betting Pick

The main event of Bellator 300 features the brightest star in the promotion, Nurmagomedov. Fight fans know that last name all too well and Usman is the cousin of Khabib, and also the younger brother of Umar. Usman is the current lightweight champion of the world who’s a heavy favorite to win here at -2400 (no, that's not a typo). That lopsided line means we’re betting the Nurmagomedov-Primus over/under instead. Here’s the betting lines:

To Win Bellator 300 Main EventBetOnlineBovadaMyBookie
Brent Primus+800+700+593
Usman Nurmagomedov-1400-1400-1666

Being he’s a Nurmagomedov and from Dagestan, you can probably guess how Usman fights. Yes, he’s an elite wrestler and grappler like the rest of the family. But that’s not all. He might be the first Nurmagomedov with almost equally impressive striking too. This guy is legit one of the best all-around lightweights in the world — not just Bellator. Nurmagomedov could honestly give Islam Makechev a run for his money, but the two likely want to avoid each other out of respect.

Though, there are some doubters of this Nurmagomedov. Typically, they bring up the resume. Usman is 17-0, but most of those wins came against no-name fighters. Yes, Nurmagomedov has beaten two former Bellator champions in consecutive fights — first Patrick Pitbull and then Benson Henderson — but each are way past their prime. Pitbull was 36 and Henderson 39.

That criticism will carry into this fight because Primus is 38 and five years removed from his own title run at lightweight. Even after a solid win against Mansour Barnaoui, Primus is nowhere near his championship level when he beat Michael Chandler at one point.

We’d hammer this under if we were you. Nurmagomedov can easily win this fight on the feet or on the ground — it’s his decision. Fourteen of his 17 career wins have been by stoppage and we expect No. 15 here. Bank on Nurmagomedov and the under hitting in the main event.

Cris Cyborg vs. Cat Zingano Betting Pick

Here again, we have a moneyline that isn’t even worth betting on. Per the top-used MMA Bellator bookies, Cris Cyborg is a staggering -560 favorite to win. She’s the current featherweight champion and has been so since the start of 2020. To find better betting value, we once again have to dig into the over/under between Cyborg and Zingano. Here’s the current odds:

To Win Bellator 300 Co-Main EventBetOnlineBovadaMyBookie
Cat Zingano+375+350+348
Cris Cyborg-500-550-666

It’s stunning this is the first-ever matchup between these two women. Stunning because both have dominated the landscape for the better part of two decades. Cyborg is arguably a top-3 women’s fighter in the sport’s history with a dazzling 26-2 mark. Besides one stunning and one-sided loss to Amanda Nunes, she’s been invincible since debuting in 2005.

Then there’s Zingano. Her record, 14-4, isn’t as eye-catching but she’s arguably fought better opponents than Cyborg. During her UFC stint, Zingano actually beat Nunes but lost to Ronda Rousey and Julianna Pena.

We think this one is going the distance. Even at 41 years old, Cat isn’t easy to get out early. She’s only been stopped twice before and Cyborg hasn’t been in an MMA ring in about a year and a half. The 38-year-old was boxing instead and that makes us believe she’ll be rusty enough to not get the finish. Bank on the over here!

Liz Carmouche vs. Ilima-Lei Macfarlane Betting Pick

The final title fight is for the women’s flyweight strap. The moneyline odds between Carmouche and Macfarlane aren’t as lopsided as the previous two, but are far from razor close either. Check out how the odds are shaking out:

Liz Carmouche-275-275-275
Ilima-Lei Macfarlane+225+225+225

We’ll be blunt and say Carmouche is winning this fight. Like Cyborg and Cat, Carmouche is getting up there in age — she’ll be 40 in February. However, she’s aging quite gracefully. The champion has won five in a row, and four have ended early. Carmouche is seemingly as dangerous as she’s ever been.

Macfarlane is a reputable foe with a 13-2 record. However, she’s not all that dangerous with no stoppage win since 2019. Whether this fight is contested standing up or on the ground, we’d favor Carmouche to get the win.
