MotoGP Picks - What Happened In Catalunya?
There is a reason why racing has so many unforeseen occurrences. Who are we kidding? Sometimes, everything goes haywire. Despite qualifying going well, the race features lots of headaches, crashes, and mechanicals. Now, MotoGP Picks tries to figure out what happened in Catalunya. Could that have any impact at all when it comes to the race in Germany this weekend? On the surface, it's a great question.
Somehow, against all odds, Fabio Quartararo managed to win last week despite things not looking so good early on. By the end of the race, the Yamaha rider finished more than six seconds ahead of his next closest competitor. The Ducati bikes showed some unexpected promise two weeks ago as Jorge Martin and Johann Zarco finished on the podium. Zarco was one of our long shots and Quartararo won as expected. However, Bastiani and Bagnaia (the Italians) finished out of the points.
Again, that was a big victory for Quartararo, the Frenchman looked extremely fast late in the race, and no one honestly could keep up during the final laps.
MotoGP Picks - Take Fabio Quartararo Sunday
Alas, this is not as big a risk as usual, but Fabio Quartararo at +125 is still intriguing enough to bet a small wager as "The Favorite". Why? Quartararo looks great in Europe with his second win in the last five races. Add in the second and a fourth-place finish to the mix and the points leader is on quite a run. His Yamaha figures to qualify well in Germany. The pit has tweaked his Yamaha well, and he did charge up to third in last year's race.
Quartararo gained 1-2 seconds per laps and had the fastest speed intervals toward the end of that race. Two weeks ago at Catalunya, the Frenchman left no doubt who was at the top of the heap. Yes, he had some help via the DNF's from the Italian bikers. However, Quartararo showed his superiority.
His latest triumph gives Quartararo six podium in his last nine races overall. After the dominating win last week, it was a bit of a surprise to see him at plus-money still this week. Usually, this is May type of wagering. Our first choice is to stick with Fabio Quartararo in the MotoGP Top Picks.
Francesco Bagnaia Looks To Bounce Back After Catalunya
This will be a tell-tale part of the weekend. MotoGP Picks focuses on Francesco Bagnaia placing at least on the podium after his DNF at Catalunya. It was just one of those races where little went right for the Italian. Last year, Bagnaia had a few speed issues in qualifying and early in the race. However, he wound up in fifth place a little less than two seconds back from the Frenchman, Fabio Quartararo.
Weather should not be an issue, but qualifying might be. Bagnaia's positioning caused him partially to DNF two weeks ago. More than anything, the Italian has to be a bit more careful when taking risks. He now finds himself 66 points down in the standings. Yes, there is plenty of time to make that up (two wins). However, this is race ten. It may get early fast with Quartararo having the faster bike. This may be a must-win for the Italian.
What About the Ducati Bikes for this Race?
One of the more shocking results was the performance of the Ducati bikes in Catalunya. Though none of the three won the race, they did finish second, third, and sixth. That second was by Jorge Martin and was his second time on the podium this season.
Now, may it occur at Deutschland? If anyone is going to match the speed of Quartararo, it may just be those Ducati bikes. Other than the Italians, they could be solid challengers once again during race number ten. Martin and Zarco are medium MotoGP Picks for this race. Zarco is more consistent for our wagering purposes.
Joan Mir Is Our Long Shot
Joan Mir is our long-shot pick at +2200 to win at Deutschland. So, Mir had a very good fourth place result two weeks ago. Mir has been knocking on the door finishing with double-digit points in six of the nine races so far.
Our Sunday Top Picks
For Online Sports Betting, our MotoGP Picks for the Sunday race at Deutschland is Fabio Quartararo and Joan Mir. Good luck, all!
