Raptors a soft team?
Toronto (36-29) is a -3.5-point home favorite against the Suns on Friday night. Sitting in third in the Eastern Conference not too long ago, the Raptors have slumped to seventh after dropping six of their last eight games.
Rock bottom may have come in Wednesday night's 116-101 defeat to New Orleans with many fans calling the Raptors soft for not sticking up for teammate Jamal Shead when the Pelicans' Dejounte Murray disrespected him after drilling a three-pointer in his face.

Suns on fire
Devin Booker put up a season-high 43 points versus the Pacers last night to lead Phoenix (39-27) to their fourth straight victory. The Suns have taken advantage of a soft schedule of late, beating a laundry list of opponents sitting outside the playoffs, including Milwaukee, Charlotte, New Orleans and Sacramento.
With six wins in their last seven games, Jordan Ott's club is just two games back of the Rockets, Lakers, Nuggets and Timberwolves, who are holding down the 3-to-6 seeds and, for the moment, won't need a Play-In game victory to make the postseason.
Raptors vs Suns key stats
Toronto is just 17-16 at Scotiabank Arena with a miserable 14-19 record against the spread. That's a bottom-five cover percentage (42.4%) at home. Meanwhile, Phoenix is 16-14 on the road with an impressive 19-11 ATS mark, which is the third-best in all of the NBA.
The Suns, however, will be playing the second of back-to-back games on the road. While Phoenix is 5-6 with no days rest, they're just 4-9 with a rest disadvantage this year. The Raptors are 10-7 with a rest advantage.

Scottie Barnes questionable
Keep an eye on the injury report as Scottie Barnes is feeling under the weather and listed as questionable for Friday's contest. There's also a good chance some Suns starters sit out since they're playing for the second night in a row.
Toronto Raptors vs Phoenix Suns Picks
While it's always hard to predict the outcomes before knowing who's playing, we like the Raptors to get up off the mat at home with a spirited effort against the Suns. Take Toronto (-3.5) to cover with the OVER 218.5 points.
