Emma Aicher+2500+2500+2800

I cannot emphasize the following enough. Anything can and does happen in the Olympics. Again, there have been postponed hockey contests, a power outage, and more already. Just because a skier is a huge favorite does not make her an automatic choice to win. The Olympics create a pressure and uneasiness unlike any World Cup or World Championship. Four years of preparation come down often to mere fractions of a second.

So, with probably six to eight contenders, the expectation is to find a gem or two among the skiers not named Shiffrin. Mikaela Shiffrin has won just one gold medal at the Slalom in three Olympic appearances. There was glory in 2014 at just 18. Since then, the American finished fourth and had a DNF in Beijing. Certainty does not exist in a sport like this. Practice runs may be important but then again the weather could prove to be a great equalizer.

The order of skiers carries potential to determine things too especially if the weather should get nasty. It is early but a pattern change is expected 10-14 days out. This could lead to a potentially more snowy forecast where skiers like Camille Rast, Petra Vlhová, and even Paula Moltzan may thrive a little better. Let us dig into the snow!

Best 2o26 Women's Olympic Slalom Bets To Win Gold

Making a few bets on the 2026 Women’s Olympic Slalom event remains more than reasonable. With the volatility, one has to not just opt for the safe play. The goal is worrying about who can arguably stay upright. After that, there is the reverse order from the results of the first run. Who will be that skier who gets to watch everyone else come down first?

Mikaela Shiffrin

She dominates everything! Despite a number of injuries through the years, Mikaela Shiffrin, at almost 31, continues to dominate this side of the sport. She won her ninth season points championship in the Slalom discipline. Yes, Shiffrin has 108 combined victories at the World Cup level. No one else is that close. Period! Here is where things could get interesting.

Shiffrin is beyond motivated. Consider this fact. She has not won a World Championship since 2019 (won four straight). In 2025, the skier did not even medal (finished 5th). Some said the course in Austria did not suit her like Cortina. Amusingly enough, the American won the Combined event at the 2021 Worlds in Cortina and racked up four medals (no Slalom gold however).

With Shiffrin accepting the pressure that comes with being the favorite, that means little here. She has to stay on course while having a little greater speed than usual. If anyone can pull this off, it is her. Any small mistake on this course opens the door wide!

Camille Rast

Camille Rast is another skier that has experienced success but succumbed to the pressure too. One of the biggest dilemmas of this event is all the layers of volatility. Other skiers are racing against the clock, Shiffrin, and the course itself. Bobbles are expected but Rast has improved every single year on the World Cup circuit. At 26, she stands on the precipice of taking over for Shiffrin. Maybe. She is the reigning World Champion after winning in 2025. Can she cement her status with an Olympic Gold?

People keep clamoring for a new star outside of Shiffrin. Petra Vlhová looked to be that skier but recent results have proven to be mixed at best. Rast keeps building momentum for what could be an amazing crescendo at the Winter Olympics. The only wish was her number lengthened a hair more. However, +450 to +475 is not bad at all here.

Petra Vlhová

Women's 2026 Olympic Slalom Bets seek out Petra Vlhová next. Vlhova is only a few months younger than Shiffrin while Rast is only 26. Age does not always play into this but sometimes experience helps. The Slovakian is the defending gold medalist from the Beijing Olympics. She has finished third or better in the World Cup standings since 2020 including a 2021 triumph.

However, a devastating knee injury in January of 2024 has caused her to miss two years in total. Two surgeries on the knee and numerous hours of rehab and practice have brought her to this point. She was only cleared to compete a few weeks ago for the Olympics. No one truly knows what form she has but her experience could surprise.

Paula Moltzan and a Longer Shot

Paula Moltzan (+2000) and a longer shot are out there. Moltzan is because she has been close finishing fourth at Worlds in the Slalom and fourth in World Cup this year. If one is looking for an Italian, check out Lara Della Mea (+10000). Surprises seem to happen more often in Italy (see Julie Mancuso in 2006). Crazier things have happened.
