McGregor vs. Chandler Prop Bets

The best UFC betting sites is pulling out all the stops for McGregor and Chandler props. That’s because betting interests are off the charts with McGregor’s first fight in the UFC in three years. However, you should be selective with your betting picks. We have three that should be atop your to-bet list:

Michael Buffer Introduction Time

Ah, yes, this prop bet is super fun — reminiscent of something you’d find in the Super Bowl prop market. Oddsmakers have an over/under line set on announcer Bruce Buffer’s introduction time before the bell rings. Here’s how the line is being pegged:

Over 160.5 Seconds-110-110-110
Under 160.5 Seconds-110-110-110

Buffer’s a hype man — unlike his smooth-talking brother, Michael, of “let’s get ready to rumble” fame. With that hype tends to come longer, more drawn-out in-ring announcements. Add in the fact this is McGregor fighting, the most famous MMA attraction ever, then we’re inclined to bet the over here.

Unlike other fight props, this one is a bit of crapshoot. You can’t analyze this prop bet all that much, but the split odds warranted a pick from us. It’s a 50-50 bet unlike others we’re about to get into.

Will Either Fighter Bleed?

This bet is self-explanatory and it’s a simple yes-or-no bet. Here’s the latest odds:

For this fight to draw blood, it’s going to have to be fought standing up. That’s what we would fully expect out of these two fighters too. McGregor is a striker through and through. During his prime, he was one of the most dangerous punchers there ever was — just ask Jose Aldo. The power was always there, but McGregor’s biggest weapon was his accuracy. When the Notorious One went head-hunting, he rarely missed.

Chandler actually has a wrestling background, but he’s all but forgotten it at this stage of his career. Now all Chandler does is stand up and fight in a phone booth — having striking wars with the likes of Charles Oliveira, Tony Ferguson, and Dustin Poirier. So yes, we fully expect a stand-up strategy out of both fighters.

Moreover, the longer the fight goes, the more likely eventually one of ‘em bleeds. We could see this fight going until the third round at least. Chandler is 38 years old McGregor is 35 so we doubt either one has the same finishing power they once did to end fights early. All this is to say we’re slamming a bet on the yes outcome.

Will Either Fighter Be Knocked Unconscious Or Submitted Unconscious?

Yes+150+150+150
No-200-200-200

Before we get to this prop bet, we should talk about who’s even favored to win. As of this writing, Chandler is a marginal moneyline favorite to win at -115, while McGregor is -105. In other words, it’s nearly at pick ‘em.

We say that now because this leads us to our next prop bet — whether anyone gets stopped unconscious or not. When making a bet like this, you better have a hard opinion on how the fight goes.

We certainly have an opinion and it’s this: there’s little chance that McGregor wins this fight. He’s won exactly one fight since Barrack Obama was U.S. President — one win in seven years for those not in the know about American politics. He’s coming off a devastating leg injury. He was filmed partying a few nights ago rather than in fight camp. All this is to say McGregor is beyond washed-up.

That’s a bad predicament to be in inside the octagon, especially against Chandler, who’s no slouch himself. We predict that Chandler sleeps McGregor in the middle of the fight — third round or possibly early fourth. It won’t be a TKO, it’ll be a straight KO punch that drops McGregor for good and cashes in this bet in the process.
