AFC Championships as any other team, tied at 8 titles with the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos. It’s a club steeped in rich tradition and one that is extremely used to winning. The Steelers lost their last Super Bowl appearance in 2011.

The Black & Gold have played at as many home stadiums as they have Super Bowl triumphs. A total of 29 playoff appearances since 1947, the Steelers expect to be in the postseason each and every year. Their last Super Bowl victory came in 2008 and they have made the playoffs six of the last 10 seasons. The Steelers have the best record of any teams in the league since 1970.

Partaking in the AFC North, the Steelers have to contend with some stuanch opposition. The Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns make up the AFC North. In the last few seasons, every team barring the Cleveland Browns have been playoff contenders. Baltimore had an off season last year due mostly to the injury bug.

Pittsburgh Steelers Online Betting Tips

Finishing the 2015-16 campaign with a solid 10-6 record, the Pittsburgh Steelers qualified for the playoffs as one of the two AFC Wild Cards. The Steelers’ potent, high-scoring offense is one of the main reasons the Steelers got to taste playoff football. The Black & Gold racked up the points, scoring 26.4 points per game, which was good for 5th best in the NFL. Third best in both passing yards pers game (287.7) and total yards per game (395.4), you can see why they qualified yet again for the playoffs.

The Steelers defense, as you probably envisioned, was the team’s achilles heel. Prone to giving up big plays, the Steelers were worst in the league at pass defense, allowing

Their pass defense was their only glaring soft spot, as the team conceded only 20 points per game, good for 11th in the NFL, and allowed a measley 91 yards on the ground each game. Their rushing defense was 5th best in the NFL.

Very good on home soil, Pittsburgh won six of its eight games in the friendly confines of Heinz Field. Their away form, however, let them down miserably. The Steelers finished 4-4 on the road and will need to improve that mark starkly to have a chance at winning the division. They also struggled against other AFC North teams, winning three of six divisional games. These stats need to improve starkly.

Ben Roethlisberger had a fairly productive year but age is no longer on his side. The 34-year-old had an overall quarterback rating of 94.5 and threw 21 TDS compared to 16 interceptions. If he can have a another year with similar numbers, the Steelers should make it back to the playoffs once again.

We don’t think they’ll win the Super Bowl but are definitely worth a futures bet to make the playoffs. That’s as far as the Steelers will go in 2016-17, though.
