NFL Betting News This Month | Latest Super Bowl Odds, Market Watch & MVP Favorites | August, 2026
If you lean into the NFL Super Bowl betting trends, you should be leaning toward the NFC. NFC teams have won four of the past six Super Bowl games. Despite that reality, this season, NFC teams are not dominating the early Super Bowl futures market.
The Los Angeles Rams are the +550 chalk to win it all. However, of the top 10 teams in Super Bowl odds, there are five from the AFC and five from the NFC. And four of the six teams with the shortest Super Bowl odds – Buffalo (+1000), Baltimore (+1100), Kansas City (+1600), and the Los Angeles Chargers (+1700) – are from the AFC.
It’s worth noting that since Denver played in Super Bowl 50, only New England and Kansas City have won Super Bowls for the AFC.
Futures markets are now reacting to roster moves, quarterback health, contract situations, rest advantages, and training camp reports. For all your news, views, and analysis, check out NFL betting.

Optimism In Cincinnati
Allen favored to win another MVP
When it comes to betting on the NFL MVP, the men under center are the center of attention. Quarterbacks have won 13 consecutive NFL MVPs and 18 of the last 19 awards.
Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen was the 2024 MVP, and he's the +550 favorite to win it again in 2026. The first six players with the shortest NFL MVP odds are all AFC QBs. Every one of the lowest 22 players in this betting market is a QB. The first non-QB in the betting lines to win the NFL MVP is Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua (+12500).
If you’re looking for value in NFL MVP futures, look no further than Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence. Last season was a coming-out party for Lawrence. He passed for 4,007 yards and 29 TDs against only 12 interceptions. His completion rate was 60.9%, and Lawrence rushed for a career-high nine TDs.
Lawrence is an absolute bargain in the NFL MVP betting markets at odds of +2200.
NFC South is NFL's most wide open division
In NFL divisional betting, no market offers greater value than the NFC South. Any team in this division could win it all. And any team could appropriately go south.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with QB Baker Mayfield playing out the final year of his contract, are the +175 chalk to win the division. Tampa Bay finished last season on a 2-7 skid and wound up 8-9.
Led by young QB Tyler Shough, the New Orleans Saints won four of their last five games to finish 6-11. They are +265 to win the division.
The defending divisional champion Carolina Panthers (8-9) can be had for +310. Injury-riddled at QB, the Atlanta Falcons (8-9) are the longest shot to be NFC South winners at +360.
Super Bowl odds movers: biggest risers, fallers and value bets
Biggest risers
Los Angeles Rams (+550)
The biggest risers on the board are the Rams. Already viewed as one of the strongest teams in the NFC, the Rams have now moved to the top of the Super Bowl market after a huge offseason. Their price has shortened to around +550, with BetNow listing them as the team leading both ticket count and money in the Super Bowl futures market. On paper, the Rams now look like the most complete roster in football.
Cincinnati Bengals (+2000)
The betting line on the Bengals is coming down in the Super Bowl futures book at a rapid pace. Last month, you could get Cincinnati at +3000 to win the Super Bowl. Joe Burrow’s health changes everything, and if the defense improves even slightly, Cincinnati could become one of the most dangerous teams outside the top tier.
Chicago Bears (+2500)
The Bears are another team gaining attention. At around +2500, they still sit outside the top tier, but Caleb Williams gives them a ceiling that is hard to ignore. If he takes another step in training camp, Chicago’s current price may not last long.
Biggest fallers
Seattle Seahawks (+1100)
The defending champion Seahawks have drifted slightly despite last season’s Super Bowl win. They remain a serious NFC contender, but the market has clearly reacted to the Rams strengthening. Repeating is never easy, and bettors appear less convinced that Seattle should still be viewed as the team to beat, especially in the rugged NFC West. It doesn't help that at RB Kenneth Walker III is gone, and Zach Charbonnet is recovering from a late-season ACL tear.
Philadelphia Eagles (+1800)
The Eagles have lost even more momentum in the market. Philly was +1600 in Super Bowl futures a month ago. Their roster still has plenty of quality, but after a disruptive offseason, they no longer feel like one of the safest NFC plays. Unless their new-look offense settles quickly in camp, they may remain in that awkward middle ground between contender and question mark.
Denver Broncos (+2000)
The Broncos had shortened to +1800, but it felt like fool's gold. They are not being priced like one of the elite teams, but their movement in both ticket count and money suggests bettors were buying into their upside. However, it would appear now that the market has fully caught up and Denver futures are once more lengthening.
Best value left on the board
Kansas City Chiefs (+1600)
The most interesting value may still be the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are rarely available at this kind of number, with Kansas City sitting outside the very top group of favourites. The concern is Mahomes’ health, and whether the offense can rediscover its rhythm, but if camp reports are positive and Mahomes is looking like himself, the Chiefs could shorten very quickly. Remember, KC has played in five of the past seven Super Bowls.
Minnesota Vikings (+4500)
The Vikings have shortened from +5000 since last month, but this remains a terrific price to get on a team that certainly could win the NFC Central. Elite defensive play in all areas on that side of the ball makes the Vikings a contender to win each week of the season. If Kyler Murray can give them even a slight bump at QB over last year's starter, JJ McCarthy, Minnesota could be dangerous. Seattle, last season’s champs, were +6000 to win the Super Bowl in the NFL preseason.
