The Eagles haven’t won a championship since the 1970 merger. They did, howver, win three championships, 1948, 1949, 1960, before the merger. Officially, though, the Eagles are without a
The NFC East is currently one of the weakest divisions in the NFL and the Eagles finished the 201-16 season in second place. Sounds pretty good, right? Wrong. Anyone aware of the Eagles culture will know that their 7-9 record is substandard and simply unacceptable. Their is some good news, though. The Eagles, by last year’s stats, only have to win two more games to take the division, which bodes well for a team that usually embodies a winning culture.
The Washington Redskins won the NFC East Division with a mediocre 9-7 record, not exactly the mark of a championship-contending team. The New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys round out the division. Playing host to some of the greatest rivalries in the NFL, the NFC East as a whole needs to improve drastically to be considered amongst the league’s best, which they were not so long ago.

Philadelphia Eagles Online Betting Tips
A bit of a difficult team to figure out, the Philadephia Eagles are about as good on the road as they are at home. The Eagles were actually a decent team on the road during the 2016 season, winning four of eight games. Their home record, however, was dismal, especially for the Eagles lofty standards. Only winning three of eight at home, Philadelphia will need to starkly improve their performances on home field to have any chance at the postseason.
The Birds, as their commonly referred to, will also need a better record against their NFC East counterparts. A .500 winning percentage will not cut it if they intend on winning the division in the next few seasons.
The Eagles enjoyed some success versus AFC teams, one of the few 2015-16 highlights. They were 3-1 againts the opposing conference. It’s too bad the Eagles don’t spend more of their time playing the opposing conference.
No Eagles receiver amassed 1,000 receiving yards, Jordan Matthews, with 997 yards, being the closest. DeMarco Murray carried the load on the ground and averaged 3.6 yards per carry for a total of 702 yards. These type of numbers aren’t going to scare other NFL teams.
The Eagles, for the most part, had a decent offensive year, nestled right in the middle of league standings in most categories. Scoring 23.6 points (13th) and amassing 364.4 total yards (12th), 255.4 passing yards (12th) and 108.9 rushing yards (14th) each game, the Eagles can’t fault their offense too heavily for their losing record.
It’s the Eagles defensive record that takes the brunt of blame for their substandard 2015-16 season. Near the bottom of every key defensive statistic, Philadelphia’s porous defense never allowed their offense a chance to win games.
The Eagles conceded 26.9 points (28th), 401.6 total yards (31st), 267.1 passing yards (28th) and 134.6 yards on the ground (32nd) each and ever game. This equation, as identified by their 7-9 record, makes for very bad results. For the Eagles to contend for the NFC East Division crown, and more importantly, the NFC, they’ll have to substantially improve every facet of their defensive game.
We don’t see it happening for the 2016-17 campaign.
