This system holds true for all types of boxing wagers. Hypothetically, let’s say you are betting on the number of rounds you expect the fight to last. Sportsbooks will communicate the lines in the same way:

Take the hypothetical over/under for Canelo vs. Mbilli. The payout on “over 7.5 rounds” is -115, because you can win the wager if the fight ends at any point in Round 8 or later. But a boxing prop bet might allow you to bet on the fight ending in Round 9 specifically. Since you are shrinking your potential number of outcomes, your odds are more likely to show a “+” symbol. That means your outcome is less likely to happen and therefore pays out more.
Boxing betting odds effectively move in stages. First and foremost, you will see a lot of movement once betting lines are released. That is when a lot of the money will flock toward the underdog, which in turn moves the odds.
After that, because lines are often released in advance, you won’t see a ton of movement until the week or two before the matchup.
