2019 Grand Prix of the Americas

Latest Betting Odds

Here are the riders laying the best odds to win the 2019 Red Bull Grand Prix:

Marc Marquez (-300)

No one could catch Marquez at the Argentina Grand Prix last month. He finished nearly 10 seconds in front of the second place Valentino Rossi.

Not surprisingly, Marquez's Riders Championship Odds are moving in a costly direction. He is now a -500 to win his fourth consecutive title—and the sixth of his career.

Valentino Rossi (+750)

After opening up the 2019 season with a disappointing fifth-place finish at the Qatar Grand Prix, Rossi got back on track with a second-place showing in Argentina. He again wasn't especially close to beating Marquez, but his position matters.

Case in point: Rossi began the year as the second-best bet for the drivers championship. He has since fallen to third, at +650, and he had dropped even lower prior to his performance two weeks ago. He needs a top-three finish on the Circuit of Americas track to ensure his odds don't move in the wrong direction.

Andrea Dovizioso (+750)

Every rider this weekend is a dark-horse candidate compared to Marquez, but Andrea Dovizioso is particularly intriguing. He edged out Marquez in the season's first race by just over two milliseconds. In doing so, he earned 25 points for the standings and established himself as a viable race-to-race threat.

Dovizioso is now a +400 to win the drivers championship following his third-place finish in Argentina. If he somehow wins again on Sunday, we should expect that number to move closer toward even money.

Cal Crutchlow (+1400)

Cal Crutchlow is still riding the support he secured with a third-place finish in Qatar. He certainly didn't earn the benefit of the doubt in the second race of the season. He finished in 12th place, more than a half-minute behind the winner.

Entering Sunday's race in Austin, Texas, Crutchlow is now a +2800 to win the Drivers Championship. That doesn't quite do it for us. Look for him to snag another top-three finish or for his odds to drop toward +3500 before investing in his futures.

Maverick Vinales (+1400)

It's interesting that Maverick Vinales continues to get so much play. His start to the season has verged on a letdown. He finished seventh in Qatar and 18th in Argentina, and his times during the preseason heats weren't great, either.

That Vinales is still a top-five bet to win the Drivers Championship, at +2000, is sort of amazing. He doesn't deserve that much faith. Wait out his next couple of races before playing his futures.

Long-Shot Betting Odds

Below is a list of other noteworthy lines for the 2019 Grand Prix of the Americas. You'll find everyone else who's laying a +10000 or better:

  • Alex Rins (+1600)
  • Jack Miller (+2000)
  • Danilo Petrucci (+2000)
  • Jorge Lorenzo (+2400)
  • Franco Morbidelli (+5000)
  • Fabio Quatararo (+6000)
  • Takaaki Nakagami (+8000)
  • Joan Mir (+10000)

Grand Prix of Americas Prediction

Picking Marco Marquez isn't going to catch anyone off-guard. That's fine. But after his dominant outing in Argentina, we cannot roll with anyone else.

If you're looking to keep an eye on someone else, the official recommendation is Andrea Dovizioso (+750). His rides have been much better than expected to start the season.

OSB Prediction: Marco Marquez (-300)
