Sportsbook.ag Sportsbook Reivew
Sportsbook.ag has been in the game for a number of years, 25 to be exact, and while they haven’t maintained a pristine reputation, they’ve still managed to maintain a high rank as one of the better online sportsbooks in the industry. Since changing their name to Sportsbook.ag in 2011, their reputation is on the up and up, bringing a great site to life and offering a selection of promotions and bonuses for sports bettors of all skill levels.
There were issues with the site under former management. As Sportsbook.com, the site was known for having customers not getting paid, abusing bonuses, it was a huge mess, and eventually, the site sold in 2005. While the previous owners of Sportsbook.ag ran the name and the site into the ground, the new owners and team behind the new and improved Sportsbook.ag have created a great product in our opinion, much improved since the earlier days.
The purpose of this review is to help you decide if Sportsbook.ag is the right choice for you by going through the top criteria that we find important, and deciding if those criteria fit what you need when choosing an online sportsbook.
Sportsbook.ag Sign Up Process
Please be advised that currently, in November 2020, Sportsbook.ag is not accepting new users.
Once you select the ‘Join Now’ button, you will be prompted to fill out your personal information including your name and your date of birth, as well as your contact information such as phone number and email address. You must be 18 years of age to create a Sportsbook.ag account.
Once you enter all the pertinent information, your account should be created and you should be ready to go.
The Sportsbook.ag website is actually one of the nicer sites we’ve seen, it has a clean layout, and all of the odds are laid out clearly, with plenty of North American betting options to choose from. There is a heavy focus on American sports, so you can be assured you have plenty of professional sports to bet on.
Sportsbook.ag also has a great mobile site, which is more important than ever these days. A mobile responsive site is key for sports bettors who are either at the game they want to bet on, or just on the go, leading a usual busy life! You can always place your wager, regardless of where you are - many online sportsbooks have focused on creating better mobile capabilities over the past number of years.
When you sign up to become a member, you are eligible to redeem bonuses and promotions at Sportsbook.ag. You can find plenty of offers seasonally, as sportsbooks love offering promotions to entice bettors to gamble on big events or games.
They offer a 20% Bitcoin welcome bonus which means that you will receive an extra 20% of whatever amount you deposit. You need to deposit a minimum of $50, so if you choose to deposit $150 let’s say, you will receive an extra $30 in cash to bet. You can deposit up to $10,000 when depositing in Bitcoin, so you can receive up to $2,000 in bonus cash - but the catch is, you have to roll over the amount you claim.
The sportsbook roller requirement is 20x, the casino is 35x and the racebook is 5x. Depending on which option you decide to bet on, you will be subject to different rollover requirements. If you stick with sports and the 20x rollover, that $30 in cash will need to be rolled over, meaning you will need to gamble $600 on sports to be able to request a withdrawal.
When it comes to promotions, they are offered to members through email. You will receive frequent emails with promotions - these are sporadic, but usually seasonal or when a big event is approaching. They don’t have any listed on their website, it seems quite exclusive.
Contests you can find on Sportsbook.ag include a $65K March Madness Bracket Buster contests, a $100K NFL Survivor Pool, and many more, depending on which sport you want to bet on.
Sportsbook.ag focuses on North American professional and collegiate sports, but also has popular betting events like boxing, UFC, tennis and golf. Any U.S. facing sportsbook usually is heavy in the North American professional sports department and a little lighter everywhere else, so this was expected.
You can find a decent selection of odds - not as many as you’d find at some of the bigger, more well-known sportsbooks, but you can find enough to keep a novice bettor happy.
Sportsbook.ag Banking Options
While in the past, Sportsbook.ag has had very few deposit and withdrawal options, they seem to have better options today. While they still have few options, there are a couple that are popular for North Americans. You can deposit with a Visa, Bitcoin, cash transfers or e-wallets (but these aren’t available in America).
While a lot of the negative feedback on Sportsbook.ag was about the withdrawal wait times, you can see that the options available to withdraw funds should be relatively quick. The two fastest options being Bitcoin withdrawals, and Western Union or Moneygram cash transfers. These take about a week to process, while some other sites will get your money transferred within 24-48 hours. You will also notice that there are fees associated with your withdrawal, usually a percentage of whatever amount you choose to claim.
To request a check be mailed to you has a limit of $2,500, and you will pay a 3% fee of the amount you are withdrawing. You can request one check per calendar year for free, which is nice if you don’t request withdrawals often.
Depending on your location and bank, you might be eligible for a bank wire transfer, which also has a 3% fee attached to it and a maximum withdrawal of $5,000.
The casino software that Sportsbook.ag is powered by Betsoft, which is one of the bigger players in terms of casino slot machines. Betsoft has great, brand name slot machines, as well as progressive slots. There’s a range of games including Blackjack, table games, video poker, progressive slots, scratch card games, Hi-Lo games, Keno and lotto games, alongside the regular slot machine games.
The games are actually quite fun to play - like video games, except you can win real money. You play all games from your Sportsbook.ag account on your web browser, you don’t have to download games. Sportsbook.ag’s casino is great if you plan to do a little casino betting when you’re not betting on sports or if you need a break from sports betting.
We do find the poker room isn’t up to snuff, and they usually don’t have enough users online to have live poker rooms filled, so if you were planning to play some poker, you might be disappointed.
Sportsbook.ag Payment Methods
Historically, the customer support at Sportsbook.ag hasn’t been the best. We’ve heard some horror stories about it being extremely difficult to get in touch with them, but have heard less and less of these stories over the past several years. We do think their customer support team is still sort of slow, but they do get back to you.
You can contact them by email or live chat, and they have a 1-800 number you can call.
Sportsbook.ag Betting Limits
Sportsbook.ag has relatively high limits, which will draw in the high rollers. Limits of $11,000 on NFL sides, $5,000 on totals are the highest, and many other sports fall in that $5,000 range. Sports outside of the North American professional leagues are usually much lower, in the $500 range.
Sportsbook.ag Overnight Lines
Sportsbook.ag offers overnight lines on Major League Baseball as well as a few other sports, which allows bettors to get in on the early lines, but their overnight lines aren’t quite as good as some of the bigger books. Their NFL odds seem slow to post, you can find earlier lines at other sportsbooks.
Is Sportsbook.ag legit?
Yes, while their reputation suffered for a few years under poor management, Sportsbook.ag has improved over the past several years and is one of the better sportsbooks in the industry.
Is Sportsbook.ag legal in USA?
Yes, technically Sportsbook.ag is legal in the United States but has been restricted in a few states. If you live in Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Utah, Nevada and Washington State, you will not be able to sign up or play at Sportsbook.ag.
Is Sportsbook.ag legal in Canada?
Yes, you can sign up and play at Sportsbook.ag in Canada, as their restriction laws are less fierce as they are in the United States. Many U.S. states are starting to regulate their own sports betting products, so they want to ban any sportsbooks based offshore that would take away from their revenue streams - Canada doesn’t do this at all.
