Lando Norris to beat Lewis Hamilton is top Belgian Grand Prix Betting Pick

The final race before the midseason F1 break is the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix from Spa-Francorchamps. After yet another win in his last race, the runaway leader Max Verstappen is favored for another win. But in our latest Formula 1 betting picks, we are looking elsewhere for this weekend’s best bets.

  • What; 2023 Belgian Grand Prix - Round 13
  • Where; Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, Stavelot, Belgium
  • When; Sunday, July 30th, 2023
  • Time; 9 am ET
  • Laps; 44
  • Race Length; 308.052

Yes, such is the dominance of Max Verstappen this season, the best Formula 1 online betting sites have him at -350 to win this weekend’s race. The short odds can’t be a surprise. After all, the double-world champion has won his last seven races and nine of the eleven held in the 2023 F1 season.

As a result, Verstappen sits on 281 points, which puts him 110 ahead of second-placed Sergio Perez (171 points). It also means you can’t bet on him to win the championship for a third successive year. The best F1 betting sites pulled the market weeks ago, leaving betting to win the Drivers Championship without Verstappen as the only competitive outright betting market on this year’s championship.

Betting to win the 2023 Drivers Championship without Max Verstappen

There has been a significant change in the latest betting to win the 2023 Drivers Championship without Max Verstappen. Sergio Perez is still the favorite at -225, with Lewis Hamilton now at +200 to catch the Red Bull No.2 driver.

But behind Hamilton, there has been a drift in the odds of Fernando Alonso. The Aston Martin driver started the season strongly and was the main contender to Sergio Perez for many weeks.

But Alonso hasn’t appeared on the podium since the Canadian Grand Prix. And after finishing 5th, 7th, and 9th in his last three races, Alonso now finds himself at +1200 to win the championship without Verstappen (finish second).

Moving in the opposite direction is the McLaren of Lando Norris. The British driver has finished second in his last two races. But with just 60 championship points, he is 111 points behind Perez, which is why Norris is a massive +6600 to win in this market.

2023 Belgian Grand Prix Winner Betting

In the latest betting to win the Belgian Grand Prix, it’s Max Verstappen at -350 who is the favorite to win. Verstappen was -300 earlier in the week, but his odds have shortened over the past couple of days, making it even harder to place a bet on the runaway championship leader to win this race.

Behind Verstappen are Sergio Perez and Lando Norris, who are joint-second favorites at +1200. Lewis Hamilton is next on +1400. Hamilton was +1200, but his odds have also drifted in recent days.

Has Max Verstappen become unbeatable?

In recent days the question has been asked about Max Verstappen possibly winning every remaining Formula 1 race between now and the end of the 2023 season.

As things stand, it’s going to take either a mistake from the driver or his Red Bull team for the Dutchman not to win his upcoming race. And as things stand, neither looks like happening.

It’s only a matter of time before someone offers odds on Verstappen winning all the remaining races. That’s assuming any bookie is brave (or maybe stupid) enough to do so.

Belgian Grand Prix Betting Picks

So for now, we have to look elsewhere for our Formula 1 betting picks. And we think we have found just the bets in the head-to-head markets.

Starting with the in-form Lando Norris, we feel he is a good bet to finish ahead of Lewis Hamilton again this Sunday. Norris has finished second to Max Verstappen in his last two races (British GP and Hungarian GP), and in the race before that in Austria, Norris finished fourth, with Hamilton down in eighth position.

We need to go back to the Canadian Grand Prix to find the last time Hamilton’s Mercedes finished in front of the McLaren of Norris.

To finish ahead of Lewis Hamilton for the fourth race in succession, Lando Norris is -110, and that is our first Belgian Grand Prix betting pick.

Another driver we like the look of in this market is Daniel Ricciardo (-120). In his head-to-head matchup against his AlphaTauri teammate Yuki Tsunoda (-110), the betting is very close.

Ricciardo finished two places ahead of Tsunoda in Hungary last Sunday, in what was his first race of the season. Daniel Ricciardo has now got last weekend’s race out of the way and will be better for the experience. We think that makes him a great bet at -120 to beat his teammate again in Belgium.
