- What? 2025 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix
- Where? Miami International Autodrome
- When? Sunday, May 4, 2025
The Formula 1 calendar brings its high-speed spectacle to American soil for the first time in 2025 with a stop in Miami, one of three U.S. venues this season. Oscar Piastri enters the weekend as the current leader in the Drivers’ Championship following his triumph in Saudi Arabia, holding a slim 10-point edge over teammate Lando Norris. Norris returns to Miami looking to rediscover the form that earned him his first career Grand Prix win at this circuit a year ago, aiming to bounce back from recent errors that have hampered his title challenge.
Let’s delve into the Formula 1 Betting Online odds for the Miami Grand Prix.

Lando Norris
Though it doesn’t quite match the raw pace of the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the Miami International Autodrome still delivers blistering speed. Like its Saudi counterpart, it’s a street-style layout, pushing cars to a top speed of 198 mph (320 km/h) and averaging 138 mph (223 km/h)—roughly 17 mph slower than Jeddah.
That level of performance continues to play into McLaren’s hands, as their pace advantage remains evident until rival teams can catch up. The circuit’s layout also allows for frequent overtaking opportunities—highlighted by the fact that no polesitter has taken the checkered flag here in the past three editions. That trend could break this year, especially if McLaren secures pole on Saturday.
Oscar Piastri presents another strong case for backers, but my pick is last year’s winner. He claimed his first-ever Formula 1 victory on this very track and put in a gritty drive in Saudi Arabia, climbing from P10 on the grid to finish fourth.
That recovery drive should boost his confidence, and this looks like the perfect setting for Lando Norris to rediscover his best form.

Other Contenders
Even with ongoing complaints about his car's handling, Max Verstappen remains a constant thorn in McLaren’s side. After a lackluster sixth-place finish in Bahrain, the Red Bull star bounced back in Saudi Arabia, grabbing pole position in qualifying. He couldn’t quite convert that into a win, though, ending the race 2.843 seconds behind Piastri to take second place.
Verstappen has an impressive history in Miami, having won back-to-back races here in 2022 and 2023 before finishing runner-up to Norris last year. The Dutchman clearly excels on this circuit and will aim to build on his solid showing in Jeddah.
Red Bull looked the sharpest they’ve been all year in Saudi Arabia, raising the question: can they keep pace with McLaren again, or will the papaya-colored cars assert dominance around the Hard Rock Stadium?
Mercedes, meanwhile, are searching for a step forward. George Russell trails Piastri by 26 points in the standings and will need a stronger showing. Rookie Kimi Antonelli faces yet another learning curve with a fresh track on the calendar.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc gave the team its first Sunday podium of the season in Saudi Arabia, edging out Norris to take third. The big narrative heading into Miami will be whether he can continue outperforming Lewis Hamilton. With recent upgrades to the car and renewed self-assurance, Leclerc could very well be a serious contender again this weekend.
Miami Grand Prix
Debuting on the Formula 1 calendar in 2022, the Miami Grand Prix is staged on a custom-designed street track that winds around the Hard Rock Stadium—the home turf of the NFL's Miami Dolphins.
The Miami International Autodrome blends elements of a traditional street circuit with high-speed racing. The opening sector is particularly quick, and a lengthy straight leading into the second-to-last corner creates the prime zone for overtaking maneuvers.
One of the more distinctive challenges on the circuit is the chicane at Turns 14 and 15, where drivers are forced to dramatically reduce speed and carefully navigate the raised sausage kerbs that have caused issues in past races.
