Round 9 of the F1 Drivers’ Championship sees the roadshow back in North America for the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen is the favorite. Round 8 of the Drivers’ Championship saw another defeat inflicted on Max Verstappen and Red Bull.
Charles Leclerc was the victorious driver on the streets of Monte Carlo as he led from start to finish to win his home Monaco Grand Prix for the first time in his career.

The win for Leclerc means Verstappen has now only won one of his last three races. Lando Norris also beat the triple-world champion in Miami, and the recent results have seen Verstappen’s lead at the top of the Drivers’ Championship now cut to just 31 points ahead of Charles Leclerc.
Also performing well at the Monaco Grand Prix was Oscar Piastri who finished second and Carlos Sainz who finished third. Max Verstappen ended up in sixth place, exactly where he started on the grid.
Even the Mercedes of George Russell finished in front of Verstappen, who had a weekend to forget.
Who is the favorite to win the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix?
Max Verstappen is the favorite to win the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix at -200 with BetOnline. With BetUS, he is as short as -275. But with a couple of days remaining before the cars get out on the circuit, those odds could yet align.
The same two bookmakers are differing on their prices for Leclerc and Norris as well. BetUS has Leclerc as their second favorite at +500, with Norris at +650. BetOnline has both drivers at +450.
Elsewhere, after his magnificent podium finish in Monaco, Oscar Piastri is the best of the rest. The McLaren No.2 driver is a best price of +1400 to go one better than his second place in Round 8 and win in Canada.
Carlos Sainz is +2500 to win his second race of the season, while the best odds available on Sergio Perez is +4000. Is he a touch too long to win this race? Maybe.

Betting to win the 2024 Drivers’ Championship
We hope you picked up the +4000 on Lando Norris and +5000 on Charles Leclerc that was available before the Monaco Grand Prix because those prices are now long gone.
Thanks to Leclerc’s win in his home Grand Prix, the market has been shaken up.
Max Verstappen was -10000. In the latest Formula 1 betting online odds, Verstappen to win the 2024 Drivers’ Championship is now -1200. Those are still very short odds, but compared to -10000, the current price of -1200 represents a huge drift.
What about Norris and Leclerc? Lando Norris is now +1800 to win the Drivers’ Championship this season. Charles Leclerc is just +800.
Our 2024 Canadian Grand Prix betting picks
Max Verstappen’s run of eight consecutive pole positions ended in Monaco. Charles Leclerc was the driver who finally put an end to Verstappen’s record-breaking run.
We fully expect the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve to suit Verstappen this weekend. But we also feel that McLaren will get plenty out of it.
Verstappen is -150 to win the pole position. Lando Norris is +800 and Oscar Piastri is +1200. We feel they are far better value.
BetOnline is again offering their Max Verstappen vs. The Field betting line on the Canadian Grand Prix. Verstappen is -200, with The Field at odds of +160.
Would we be surprised to see Verstappen back on top of the podium again this weekend? No.
Is it worth the risk of backing Verstappen at -200? We don’t think it is. So for our race winner pick, we are going for The Field to beat Max Verstappen in the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix.
