Bellator Betting Picks

Bellator has not only one, but two different numbered pay-per-views happening this April 22-23 weekend in Honolulu, Hawaii. We’re going to give you the very best Bellator bets to make across both nights right here — and believe us, we’re sticking to the attraction fights too (not random prelims). Keep reading for a complete guide to making money off the fights this weekend!

Liz Carmouche vs. DeAnna Bennett Betting Pick

The main event of Bellator 294 features one of the most dominant female fighters in the whole sport — Carmouche. She’s pulled off five straight wins and will defend her featherweight championship in this one. As it stands, Bellator betting sites are firmly pegging Carmouche as the runaway betting favorite over Bennett:

Liz Carmouche-450-450-450
DeAnna Bennett+325+325+325

One reason why Bennett isn’t being given much of a chance is because she lost to Carmouche already. These two women threw down back at Bellator 246 in September 2020. The result? A third-round submission for the current champion. Not only that, but Bennett failed to make weight before that. Bennett, to be fair, has gone on a three-fight-wining streak since then. However, has she improved enough since then to get a different result this time around?

Probably not. If anything, Bennett’s best chance at winning is if Carmouche loses a step — even if it’s a mild one. We mean, she did just turn 39 years old, a time when most fighters should be getting worse. But there’s no evidence Carmouche is backtracking. She’s stopped her last three opponents. Sans UFC’s Valentina Shevchenko and Alexa Grasso, there might not be a better featherweight in the world right now than Carmouche, which is why we’re betting on her with confidence here.

Raufen Stots vs. Patchy Mix Betting Pick

One million dollars is on the line in the bantamweight grand prix finale. The competition has come down to interim champion Stots and former title challenger in Mix. This will headline the Sunday night card in Hawaii. Thankfully for bettors, the odds are more even here, giving bettors a chance to profit more than the aforementioned girls main event. Here are the current Stots-Mix lines:

FighterGTBetsMyBookieBovada
Raufeon Stots-145-145-145
Patchy Mix+115+115+115

This is a high-level matchup, especially considering how each fared last time out. Mix made Magomed Magomedov submit in round two. Look, we get it, Magomedov isn’t as good as the other Dagestan fighters, but he’s no chump either. Stots, on the other hand, put on a wrestling clinic in a close decision victory over Danny Sabatello.

We expect another wrestle-fest in this matchup. That’s because Mix can grapple with the best of them too. His gas tank, like that of Stots, is never-ending. Mix has a deadly guillotine that can end a fight at any moment. So if we were you, we’d think about taking a prop bet on this fight — it either ends in submission or decision. A knockout would be a shock given each’s fight style.

Our final prediction is Stots pulls out the split decision win. Look, it’s going to be razor-close based on each’s ground game. However, the times when the fight is standing up, Stots will have the clear upper hand. Stots can jab and kick his way to victory here against Mix’s so-so stand-up game. That balanced approach gives Stots the betting edge here.

Lei Macfarlane vs. Kana Watanabe Betting Pick

This female bout headlines night two, and we were drawn to the Macfarlane-Wantanabe line. This is a flyweight matchup, with the winner very likely getting a title bout afterward. Of the three fights we’ve covered, this is the biggest toss-up odds-wise:

FighterGTBetsMyBookieBovada
Kana Watanabe-135-135-135
Ilima-Lei Macfarlane+105+105+105

This is an absolute doozy of a matchup. Macfarlane (12-2) was the first-ever featherweight titleholder back in 2017. However, the Japanese-bred Watanabe (11-1-1) has largely dominated in Bellator minus one defeat to the aforementioned Carmouche. Wantanabe is ranked second in the decision. Whoever wins is likely in line for a title matchup.

We also have to mention that Macfarlane will have the home-crowd advantage per se. She’s from Honolulu so they’re not another fighter on the card getting the backing she’ll get on Sunday night. That might be the tiny edge she needs to fit out the victory. Macfarlane has more experience in these big moments too, which is why we’re taking her over Watanabe in a sneak upset.
