Right onto our Table Tennis betting picks, and the first match we are going to be looking at involves Petr Macela and Jan Zajicek.

Petr Macela vs Jan Zajicek Betting

Jan Zajicek is -236 to win this match on the moneyline, Petr Macela is +183.

Betting favorite, Zajicet was last in action on Tuesday, winning three and losing one. The wins came over Josef Medek twice (both 3-2), and Erik Mares (3-1). The defeat was a 3-0 loss to Lukas Boruvka. And it was quite a heavy defeat, with the three sets finishing 11-8, 11-5, and 11-6.

As for Petr Macela, he played four times yesterday, also winning three, and losing one. The wins came over Erik Mares (twice) and Jakub Boruvka (3-2). Macela’s loss yesterday came at the hands of Josef Medek, losing 3-1 in his opening match.

The defeat to Medek was closer than the set scoreline suggests. The results of the sets were 7-11, 11-9, 11-7, and 14-12. It’s fair to say that Macela pushed Medek, but lost the big moments that ultimately cost him the match.

As for Zajicek, his two wins over Medek were both 3-2. Bizarrely in all ten sets played between Zajicek and Medek, 11-8 was the closest set score. There were no real big moments in either matches, most of the sets were won (by both players) at a canter.

The bottom line is that Zajicek won both deciding sets. In the first match he won it 11-4, and in the second match, it was 11-7. Medek couldn’t get near Zajicek when it mattered. But when Macela played Medek, Macela lost all the big moments.

Macela vs Zajicek Picks

A win for Jan Zajicek looks like an obvious call, but at -236 he might be too short in the betting for some people. On the handicap line Zajicek is -110 to win starting from -1.5 sets, meaning he will need to win the match 3-1 for that bet to win.

For me, I’m fine with taking Zajicek to win outright, and make it my betting pick for this match. If you prefer though, you can take him on the handicap line, or alternatively, you can double up a bet on Zajicek with our next betting pick for better value.

Jiri Machart vs Ales Nemec Betting

Another match which stands out is the even looking contest is between Jiri Machart and Ales Nemec. Both guys are -115 to win this on the moneyline.

Latest form shows that Machart won three and lost one when he last played on Monday. All three wins were 3-0 score lines, as was the defeat to Vlastimil Svatos. Machart did gain revenge over Svatos, with a 3-0 win in the immediate match after (one of his 3-0 wins).

Nemec was last in action on Sunday, when he lost twice to Michal Syroha, 3-2 on both occasions. Before that, Nemec won twice, 3-2 against Vlastimil Svatos, and 3-0 against Jaroslav Kasan.

If a guide is needed, look no further than the two players’ respective matches with Vlastimil Svatos. Machart lost 3-0 to Svatos, and beat him 3-0. Nemec defeated Svatos 3-2.

Marchart vs Nemec Picks

So, now it’s clear why this is a tight call with the sportsbooks. If I’m pushed for a winner, I’m going with Jiri Machart, he seems in the better form. But for me, my Table Tennis betting picks on this match is for over 75 games, I feel it will be a tight contest and I can see it producing a lot of close sets.
