This may be the most important element of the Red Rock Hotel: its location. The property sits at 11011 West Charleston Boulevard, well away from both Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street. In practical terms, it’s about a 17- to 20-minute drive from the heart of the Strip.
This is going to be a turnoff for some potential guests. There's no way around it. The Red Rock is also a similar distance away from Harry Reid International Airport (formerly McCarran), which only adds to its downside. You need to rent a car or use a rideshare to get around.
On the bright side, for those who rent a car, self-parking is free at the Red Rock casino sportsbook. You also have the option of using a velt.
In many cases, this still won't matter. Guests typically want to stay at centrally located joints on The Strip, like the Cosmopolitan or Bellagio hotels. If they can't stay there, they'd rather get a room at the northern or southernmost end of The Strip, at a hotel like the Venetian. And if they can't stay there, they'd still rather go to Fremont street, where places like the Golden Nugget and D Las Vegas are much closer to The Strip.
There's nothing wrong with valuing location over everything else. But as you'll come to see, the Red Rock casino and sportsbook do their darndest to ensure their distance from the epicenter of Sin City doesn't dissuade you from choosing them for your next stay.
Place Your Bets at Red Rock Sportsbook
While other Vegas hotels, such as Planet Hollywood or Paris, don't view their sportsbook as the primary draw, the Red Rock casino has no choice. They are neither on The Strip nor close enough to it for their guests to place wagers elsewhere. Even building a commuter sportsbook was out of the question. They need a lounge in which bettors can place wagers and relax.

Red Rock pulled out all the stops with its 2020 renovation, and the upgrades still shine in 2025. The sportsbook now features over 200 seats, many equipped with individual screens tailored for horse racing enthusiasts, along with a dedicated VIP section for a premium viewing experience.
Their biggest source of appeal, though? That would be the 96-foot wall they turned into a sectional screen that shows all the top live sporting events in separate quadrants. It truly is a sight to behold.
The Red Rock sportsbook hours of operation are also a major advantage, especially given the hotel’s off-Strip location. As of 2025, the sportsbook is open 24/7, ensuring you can place bets, catch games, and access lines at any time—whether it’s early morning college football, mid-afternoon NFL betting or late-night NBA action, or anything in between.
Catching a game at the Red Rock sportsbook is likewise a genuinely entertaining experience. Their seats are comfortable, and they have a bar within the room at which you can order cocktails, appetizers and full-on meals. And while a place like this would normally fill to capacity during huge events like the Super Bowl or college football National Championship game, Red Rock's remote location makes it so the crowds are manageable and you can enjoy such games without having to survive standing room only.
Comps and specials are not part of the Red Rock sportsbook business model, but they do offer everything else: betting specials, contests, events—the whole nine yards. They even make it so you don't have to be at the sportsbook to place a wager. Red Rock Casino
The Red Rock casino is built in the same vein as their sportsbook: It has everything because it has to have everything. Everything else in Vegas is too far away.
All the usual gaming options are within Red Rock's 87,000 square foot casino: slots, video poker, roulette, blackjack, keno, craps, etc. They also have a full-on poker room, where they will run regular buy-in tournaments, plus a bingo room to boot.
Even the decor is meticulously thought out. You don't even realize you're a good 17 to 20 minutes away from The Strip. You feel like you're right in the thick of the action.
Among the biggest complaints, we see about the Red Rock casino is they don't have complimentary drinks on the floor. This is both accurate and a bummer. It also makes sense. They don't need to have free drinks. You're not going anywhere else. You are basically on a resort, and leaving can be more trouble than it's worth, particularly if you're looking to consume a few cocktails. They have you by the you-know-what, and they know it. You have to purchase drinks at the bar.
Red Rock makes up for this gap in amenities with a strong gambling rewards program. Though it isn't valid on transactions at the sportsbook, their Casino Players Club card can be used to rack up points at all table games and slots. Once you have enough points, you will be able to redeem them for event tickets, discounted room rates, meal benefits, and even free bets.
Staying at the Red Rock
The hotel portion of Red Rock is arguably its biggest strength—it’s what truly makes the property feel like a full-scale resort.
With 796 rooms, availability is rarely an issue, even during busier travel seasons. Current rates typically start around $159 per night in 2025, though prices fluctuate depending on demand. Guests should also factor in a daily resort fee of $50.85 (including tax). While this may seem steep, it’s in line with or even slightly lower than what many Strip properties now charge, where daily fees often exceed $55–$60.
Red Rock at least has the amenities in place to back up the cost. The rooms are fairly spacious and incredibly modern following their renovation. Every standard room has at least one plasma TV, as well. The wifi here is of the highest quality, too. It has to be when people are oftentimes committing their entire stay to remain on the property.
As of 2025, Red Rock continues to offer an impressive lineup of amenities. Guests can take advantage of laundry service, concierge assistance, 24-hour room service, a business center, a top-tier pool complex, a well-equipped gym, and much more.
Dining on-site is equally convenient. Options range from casual bites to fine dining, with highlights such as the Grand Café, Feast Buffet, T-Bones Chophouse & Lounge, and the Sandbar Poolside Café. The variety ensures you could stay several days and still enjoy a different dining experience each meal.
Entertainment at Red Rock remains a major draw in 2025. The resort regularly hosts live concerts, features a nightclub and multiple bars, and includes unique attractions like a bowling alley and a Regal movie theater. Shoppers will also find boutique stores on-site, though for a broader retail experience, most guests still make the short drive to the Miracle Mile Shops on the Strip.
Theoretically, Red Rock is a great lodging option for anyone who visits Vegas. You can enjoy some time away from the 24/7 noisiness on The Strip and then order rideshare to hit any nightclubs, casinos, or shows at your leisure.
But this resort is particularly good for families that have children under the gambling age of 21. Parents can still get the full-on Sin City experience when their kids are asleep in the room or enjoying the bowling alley or movie theater.
This is not to say Red Rock is predominantly for families. Partygoers not only stay at the Red Rock, but they spend a majority of their time on the property because of all the entertainment and gambling options. The distance from The Strip might be a hangup, but as far as we're concerned, Red Rock is the single Vegas hotel with something for every type of guest.
