The 2023 IPL is entering the business end of the competition, and on Friday the Gujarat Titans will face the Mumbai Indians, with the winners taking their place in Sunday’s final. The Titans are the defending champions, while the Indians have won this title five times in the past. Who will win and take their place in the 2023 final? Let’s take a closer look with our latest cricket betting picks.
- What; 2023 IPL Playoffs - Match 73 - 2nd Qualifier
- Who; Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians
- Where; Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, India
- When; Friday, May 26th, 2023
- Time; 10 am ET
This match is for the right to play the Chennai Super Kings in the final of the 2023 IPL on Sunday. The Super Kings secured their place in the final by finishing second in the points table, and then defeating the Gujarat Titans by 15 runs in the first Qualifier on Tuesday.
Such is the way the IPL playoffs work, that leaves the Titans (who topped the points table) with a second chance to make the final, but only if they can beat the Mumbai Indians in the second Qualifier on Friday.
The Mumbai Indians - who finished fourth in the table - take their place in the Qualifier match thanks to their win over the Lucknow Super Giants (third) in the Eliminator held on Wednesday. Mumbai posted 182/8 when they batted first. They then restricted Lucknow to just 101 runs with a brilliant performance in the field.
Mumbai had to win three of their last four group matches to make the last four. Now after this 81 runs win over the Super Giants, they can officially say they are in good form. The only team to defeat the Indians on their run-in was Lucknow (by 5 runs), and Mumbai have now settled that score. Could it be that the Indians are timing their run to perfection?
Betting to win the IPL outright
In the latest betting to win the 2023 IPL, the Chennai Super Kings are the favorites with the best online cricket betting sites. Chennai are -110 to win the title for the fifth time. To highlight the recent improvement in the performance of the Mumbai Indians, they are +275, which is the same price as the Gujarat Titans.
To put that into more perspective, the Titans have been widely regarded as the best team in the tournament this year. They finished top of the table on 20 points, three more than Chennai and Lucknow, and four more than Mumbai. In the IPL betting, the Titans have been the favorites for pretty much the whole season.

Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians Match Betting
In the latest cricket betting odds, the best sports betting sites can’t split these two teams. On the moneyline, both the Titans and the Indians are -110 to win the match and claim the remaining place in the final. A couple of the bookmakers are slightly favoring the Titans, but by and large, it looks a 50-50 match.
Below we’ve included the odds from some of the best sportsbooks for cricket betting on our odds table. You can read more about these online betting sites on our sportsbook reviews page.
Elsewhere, and in the betting to win the bat flip, it’s unsurprisingly a 50-50 call. Both sides are -110 to win the bat flip, and decide who bats first. The result of the flip could have a significant impact on who goes on to win the match.
In the top batter betting, Shubman Gill is the favorite to top score for Gujarat at odds of +240. Gill top scored with 42 in the Titans defeat to the Super Kings in the first Qualifier match on Tuesday.
As for the Mumbai Indians, there is a three-way tie in the betting to top score for the most successful team in IPL history. Cameron Green, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav, are all +350. Captain, Rohit Sharma is +400. The fact that the odds are all very similar amongst their top four batters is quite telling, as it shows how the runs have been shared around lately.
Our Pick to win the match
By now it must be pretty obvious which way we’re leaning for our pick. The Mumbai Indians seem to be the team running into top form at the right time. They also have more fire power at the top of their batting order with Sharma, Kishan, Green, and Suryakumar.
But on the flip side, the Indians’ batters had better be on top form, as they are up against arguably the best bowling line up in the IPL. Mohammed Shami was the top wicket taker in the group stage with 24 scalps. And Shami has been ably supported by Afghan white ball superstar, Rashid Khan, in this year’s competition.
Both teams have the ability to win this match. And the matchup between Mumbai’s batters and Gujarat’s bowlers, gives this match the potential to be a classic. But we feel the Mumbai Indians batting line up is hot at the moment, and that should give them the edge. We’re going with Mumbai to win for our betting pick.
