Best Value Bets to win 2020 NCAA Title

Louisvile (+1400)

You'll want to jump on Louisville as soon as possible. They opened closer to +2000 and have started moving closer to bona-fide contender odds as a result.

Continuity is rare in college basketball. The age of one-and-done players has made it difficult to implement systems and build National Championship dynasties. That's why Villanova winning two titles in the past four years is so darn impressive.

The Cardinals don't enjoy that level of continuity, but they do have a bunch of returning players, including last year's leading scorer, Jordan Nwora. Expect them to be the toast of the ACC.

Oregon (+3300)

To call the Oregon Ducks a demonstrative underdog would be a bit of an overstatement. But they're pretty darn close

This +3300 line suggests that bettors have yet to take them seriously. That needs to change. Payton Pritchard, a senior, is one of the steadiest playmakers in the country, and this season, he's joined by two five-star big men: N'Faly Dante and CJ Walker.

After flirting with a elite status last year, the Ducks now have the firepower and physical force to be a problem for opponents at both ends of the floor. Don't be surprised if they're among the most coveted darlings entering the March Madness tournament.

Xavier (+5500)

What the Xavier Musketeers lack in star power, they make up for with continuity at the top.

All four of Xavier's leading scorers are back, including the ultra-key Naji Marshall and Tyrique Jones. There are a lot of freshmen coming off their bench, but having that level of familiarity at the top is going to be huge.

Last year, Xavier was No. 102 in offensive efficiency and No. 253 in points allowed per 100 possessions. Even with so many additions to their bench, we can expect them to improve upon both of those marks—in a big way, no less.

Syracuse (+7000)

Call this pick more of a gut feeling. The Syracuse Orangemen aren't the most talented bunch on paper, but the program has a tendency to outperform expectations under head coach Jim Boeheim.

Yes, the mystique of Syracuse's 2003 National Championship has long since worn off. But Boeheim has coached to five Final Fours and has almost a dozen Big East titles on his resume.

Equally important, Syracuse has yet to finish with a losing record since Boeheim took the reins in 1976-77. Other powerhouses are more likely to take the National Championship, but the Orangemen only need to make the March Madness tournament to have a shot.

Under Boeheim, you know they're going to get there. And so long as you can get a 70-to-1 potential return on their odds, you should absolutely consider rolling the dice.

Georgia (+12500)

Don't sleep on the Georgia Bulldogs. They have the look and feel of a budding giant.

Not only do the Bulldogs return Rayshaun Hammonds, but they also have Anthony Edwards, a freshman who ranks among the early-season favorites to go No. 1 overall in the 2020 NBA draft.

One player doesn't always change an entire program, but he might. NBA scouts are already raving about him. He's not the tallest wing, but he's long, with a 6'10" wingspan, and super strong.

His handle is a bit iffy, but he's shown the capacity to drill jumpers and create for others off the dribble. Talk to anyone who knows hoops, and they believe he's flashed the indicators to get even better.

With the depth Georgia already has in place, he could be a championship tipping point.

2020 National Championship Prediction

Not so surprisingly, our championship pick does not come from the best value section. We endorse all those teams if you're looking for a great potential return, but we'd be remiss if we didn't acknowledge that, this year, the best team in college basketball might be the...Kentucky Wildcats.

Roster turnover once again detracts from Kentucky's stock. They send so many players to the NBA each year that it can be difficult to cobble together a coherent system.

Still, head coach John Calipari has made a fortune turning the Wildcats into an annual juggernaut. And this year, unlike in years past, Kentucky won't look so imbalanced. They have the defensive depth and offensive firepower to rank in the top 25 of both categories this season.

OSB National Championship Prediction: Kentucky (+750)
