Look, we get why people don't consider the Giants a legitimate 6-1 team. Their passing offense is bunk with Daniel Jones under center, and they have won a bunch of their games in crunch time. Sooner or later, they're not going to get that final-possession stop or late fourth-quarter score.
At the same time, we need to show some level of appreciation for the body of work that they've done. Indeed, they have capitalized on a fairly favorable schedule. But they've also beaten three legitimate playoff hopefuls now in the Packers, Ravens and Jaguars. New York no longer feels like a team that will suddenly dissipate into nothing. Their defense up front is a stalwart, and the offensive line has done a nice job opening up seams for both Daniel Jones himself when he rolls out and for superstar running back Saquon Barkley.
Giving the edge to the Seahawks in this contest is flat-out weird all things considered. Winning in Seattle is tough for opposing teams, and quarterback Geno Smith has led an offense that's much friskier than expected. Knowing the Giants aren't built to win shootouts, there is a scenario in which things get messy for New York. We just don't think they'll ever reach that point, thanks to the G-Men's defense.
