When Steve Yzerman went to Tampa Bay to run the Lightning as general manager, he brought along a philosophy ingrained during two decades with the Detroit Red Wings – patient development of the team’s propsects, allowing them to grow together and ripen on the vine while playing in the minor leagues. It’s a formula that’s allowed the Red Wings to be an NHL power for over two decades and it’s also working well for the Lightning. Much of that lineup was with the Lightning in 2014-15 when they captured the NHL’s Eastern Conference title and played for the Stanley Cup.

St. Louis is the franchise’s all-time leader in scoring with 953 points, while Lecavalier still holds the record for most goals with 383, however Stamkos is closing in on that mark.
